About On The Road: A Travel DJ's Life
Most destination bookings involve complex logistics, from coordinating with local sound engineers to syncing my digital setup with the venue's PA system. I don't just show up and plug in; I carry my own professional controller and wireless mics, and I am always on-site at least two hours before the event to test the acoustics. Whether you are hosting at a resort in Goa or a banquet hall in Chennai, I ensure the music transition is seamless from the moment you hit the floor.
Being a travel DJ is a lifestyle. It is not just about the show; it is about the preparation—managing flights, hotel setups, and adapting to different city crowds. From my regular sets at Bangalore hotspots like Badmaash and Tipsy Bull to playing for diverse audiences at Underground in Kolkata or Lord of the Drinks in Chennai, I have learned how to read a room instantly.
How I Work on the Road
- The Setup: I bring my own MacBook Pro running licensed software and professional Pioneer controllers. If the venue has an existing house system, I perform a thorough 'tech sync' to ensure my digital output translates perfectly through their speakers.
- The Vibe: I play open-format, meaning I mix Bollywood, Punjabi, retro hits, and commercial top 40. I know when to drop a classic 90s track for the older generation and when to switch to high-BPM Afro-beats to keep the college crowd or younger guests moving.
- Live Engagement: I am not just a DJ; I am an emcee. I stay on the mic, engaging the crowd, hyping up the dance floor, and sometimes even jumping into the mix with the guests. If you want that extra punch, ask me about adding a live percussionist to the set for a full concert feel.
Planning Your Event
Booking me for a destination event is straightforward. I provide my own equipment transport logistics for city-limit gigs. For out-of-station events, we coordinate on travel and accommodation in advance.
