Turntablism & DJ Skills Workshops
Get behind the console and master the craft. From manual beatmatching to the art of scratching, I break down the technical skills you need to find your sound.
A clip from a DJ and Turntable workshop I conducted. I'm explaining the difference between cueing on a CDJ and a turntable, and the art of scratching to add that extra 'tadka' to a set.
Here I am demonstrating some tricks and wordplay, mixing 'Tattad Tattad' with a hip-hop beat. This is how I experiment and create unique live remixes.
Another clip from a DJ workshop, where I'm showing students the ropes. I believe in passing on the skills I've learned over the years.
Music is motivation. In this video from a workshop, I'm in my element, showing how music can pump us up and be more productive.
About The Craft: Turntablism & Workshops
Most people focus on software sync, but I start with the fundamentals. Whether you are moving from a controller to CDJs or learning how to scratch on turntables, we focus on the manual ear training that makes a DJ reliable in any environment. This is about building the intuition to read the room and mix with confidence, regardless of the gear in front of you.
Beyond the Sync Button
Learning to DJ is more than just loading a track and hitting play. After 13 years on the deck, I have seen too many beginners get stuck when technology fails. In these workshops, I strip away the shortcuts. We practice the old school way because that is how you develop an ear for transitions and phrasing.
What We Cover
- Beatmatching by Ear: No looking at waveforms. You learn to listen to the kicks and snares to align tracks manually.
- The Art of Scratching: From the baby scratch to complex cuts, we break down how to add that extra flavor to your sets without overdoing it.
- Gear Familiarity: We work with real Pioneer CDJs and turntables. You learn the specific layout differences, cueing techniques, and how to handle different consoles.
- Crowd Interaction: A DJ set is about energy. I show you how to use the microphone and your track selection to actually talk to the audience and keep the vibe moving.
Why Mentorship Matters
I treat my students like the next generation of performers. You get hands-on practice, not just lectures. We dive into the philosophy of music—how to use it to manage energy, handle a floor, and most importantly, how to bring your own voice to the mix. Whether you are a total beginner or a bedroom DJ looking to go pro, we focus on the skills that actually matter when you are live on stage.
DJ Rebirth
I'm DJ Rebirth. I don't chase dreams, I hunt goals, and that includes helping you master the console. My sessions are hands-on, no-fluff training where we use real gear so you can build the confidence to own any dance floor.
