Farmhouse Architecture and Master Planning for Scenic Estates
We design farmhouses that act as an extension of the landscape, prioritizing local materials and seamless indoor-outdoor living.
This farmhouse floor plan shows a U-shaped layout that wraps around extensive lawns and a central courtyard. This architectural strategy maximizes natural light and provides every room with a direct connection to the outdoors.
A farmhouse project in Uttarakhand under construction. The design utilizes a raised plinth and deep verandas to respond to the site's topography, while the structure is framed against a backdrop of dense forest.

Another angle of the farmhouse construction, highlighting the open, double-height spaces that will eventually look out onto the landscape. The raw structure reveals the hierarchies of space within the design.

About Farmhouses: Blending with Nature
For our farmhouse projects, we often utilize local rubble masonry for boundary walls and base structures. This is not merely an aesthetic choice, as it grounds the building in the specific geology of your site, ensuring the structure feels like a natural part of the topography rather than an alien addition to the landscape.
When we approach a farmhouse project, the landscape is the foundation, not an afterthought. Our master planning process begins with a comprehensive site context analysis, evaluating sun paths, wind direction, and existing contour levels. By mapping the terrain first, we ensure that the layout, whether a U-shaped plan that wraps around a courtyard or a linear structure positioned to capture specific views, maximizes natural light and airflow.
We lean heavily into vernacular materials. Using stone like rubble masonry for plinths or boundary walls allows the architecture to age gracefully alongside the forest or field it occupies. For projects in varied terrains, such as our work in Uttarakhand, we utilize raised plinths and deep verandas. These architectural responses are functional, as they manage sloping ground while providing shaded, habitable outdoor spaces that define our 'architecture that breathes' philosophy.
Every farmhouse design package includes civil sections for pathways, drainage planning to mitigate water logging, and lighting layouts that integrate pathway bollards with ambient focus lights. We do not just provide 3D renders, we provide the civil and horticultural roadmap to build an estate that functions as well as it looks.
