Coach in Action: Leading by Example
I don't just teach cricket, I live it. Being an active player in the Delhi Premier League means I bring the intensity and tactics of the modern game directly to our training nets.
I lead by example. As an active player in the Delhi Premier League for the Central Delhi Kings, I bring real-world, top-level experience back to my students at the academy.
In my Delhi Kings jersey. I believe a coach should not only teach but also demonstrate what it takes to compete at a high level.
Ready for the game. Staying active as a player helps me understand the modern game better and coach my students more effectively.
Proudly wearing the number 05 for the Central Delhi Kings. I carry the same passion onto the field as I do during my coaching sessions.
From the practice nets to the big league. This video shows the preparation that goes into performing at a high level, culminating in results in the DPL.
It was an honor to be invited by India News to share my analysis on the T20 World Cup. I always enjoy discussing the technical aspects of the game.
Sharing my expert opinion on the India vs England semi-final match. It's great to see the passion for cricket across the country.
About Coach in Action: Leading by Example
When you train with me, you are learning techniques that are currently being tested under the high pressure of the Delhi Premier League. I do not just explain cover drives or spin variations in theory; I demonstrate them in real match conditions. Because I am still competing at this level, I teach the game as it is played today, not as it was five years ago. My students see me applying the same drills we use in the nets during my own matches.
Modern Game Intelligence
Most coaching institutes rely on outdated manuals. At Delhi Cricket Hub, we focus on match-readiness. The game has evolved rapidly—T20 intensity, innovative shot selection, and aggressive bowling strategies are now standard. My goal is to ensure every player in the DCH family understands not just how to hit a ball, but when and why to execute specific shots under pressure.
From Nets to the Pitch
My training methodology bridges the gap between practice and play. When we run net sessions, we simulate match scenarios:
- Powerplay Simulation: Training for aggressive starts with field restrictions.
- Death Over Bowling: Precision and calmness under high-run-rate scenarios.
- Game Awareness: Learning to read the opposition's field placements and body language.
Why Mentorship Matters
Being a BCCI Level 1 and NIS qualified coach gives me the technical framework, but my active involvement in leagues like the DPL gives me the 'street smarts' of cricket. I know how to prepare mentally for a big match, how to handle the anxiety of a selection trial, and how to stay sharp after a bad outing. My students do not just get a coach; they get a teammate who is deeply invested in their growth as athletes and individuals. We treat every session as a mini-match, building the temperament required to succeed at the district and state levels.
Harish Dagar
I am Harish Dagar, and for me, cricket is a 24/7 commitment. I lead my DCH family from the front, whether I am guiding a rookie in the nets or competing on the pitch in the Delhi Premier League. When you train here, you get a coach who is constantly testing his own game to help you elevate yours.
