Statement Overcoats and Layered Ensembles
These layered pieces play with texture and transparency, blending Tassar silk, sheer organza, and Tencel Luxe. Designed for those who value understated structure and fluid movement.
This ensemble showcases my love for structured yet fluid fabrics. The dark chocolate overcoat is made from Tassar silk, featuring exquisite French knot hand embroidery along the lapels. I paired it with a simple camisole and wide-leg pants in my specially woven, buttery-soft Tencel Luxe fabric for a complete, layered look.
This three-piece ensemble in a sophisticated taupe is designed for versatility. It includes a long, flowing skirt with elegant ruching, a simple cropped top, and a sheer, long jacket. I added a touch of artistry with intricate hand embroidery on the jacket's lapel.
For this layered dress in a vibrant melon hue, I focused on creating a beautiful drape. The design features soft, fluid pleats and is paired with a sheer overcoat. The coat is adorned with delicate, hand-embroidered detailing on the lapel, adding a touch of refined craftsmanship.
About Statement Overcoats & Layering
The key to these ensembles is the balance between structure and fluidity. I build each piece with a base layer, such as a fluid dress or camisole, that holds its own before the sheer or structured overlay is added, ensuring the outfit remains breathable and comfortable even when you are wearing multiple layers for an event.
Layering is often mistaken for bulk, but in my collections, it is about creating depth through texture and weight. By pairing heavy fabrics like Tassar Matka or structured Tassar silk with the ethereal quality of sheer organza, you achieve a silhouette that feels both grounded and light.
The three-piece sets in this collection, for instance, typically combine a solid base—like a modal camisole or a fluid dress—with a statement overcoat or sheer jacket. This allows you to transition seamlessly from a daytime event to an evening function simply by adjusting how the layers are worn or tied.
I focus heavily on the finishing. You will notice that even the most relaxed silhouettes, like my asymmetrical tunics or wide-leg trousers, are constructed with concealed zippers, French seams, and lined overlays to ensure the inside feels as polished as the outside. The hand-embroidery, specifically the French knots and thread work you see on the lapels, is added to break the monotony of solid tones without overpowering the garment. If you are looking for occasion wear that feels personal rather than mass-produced, these pieces offer a way to own your look while staying true to comfort.
