About this collection
Making this EP proved that collaboration is the ultimate hack. I pulled in vocalists like Hebzy and Puja on a whim, turning tracks like 'Set Fire to the Rain' into something raw and techno-heavy. When we produce your sound, we aren't just layering beats, we are re-engineering the emotion to make it fit your specific vision.
Behind the Music
'Reflection' is more than just a playlist, it is an experiment. Under my label, Bombae Records, I wanted to strip back the over-produced noise and find the core of what makes a song stick. We took iconic tracks—both global hits like Adele's 'Set Fire to the Rain' and homegrown favorites like 'Meri Jaan'—and rebuilt them with a new-age, downtempo, and techno-infused perspective.
The Production Approach
My process for this EP wasn't about chasing trends. It was about raw interaction. I work out of Mumbai studios where the goal is clarity and punch. For the 'Reflection' project, we utilized:
- Reprise Re-imagining: Changing chords and tempo to turn high-energy originals into lounge or lo-fi masterpieces.
- Vocal-First Engineering: Using manual pitch correction and creative FX to ensure the vocalists, like Coral Bhamra or Hebzy, drive the narrative.
- Hybrid Beats: Mixing analog hardware synth sounds with digital VSTs to get that specific 'pataka' energy I am known for.
