I designed this serene pooja corner for a client's home. The setup features a backdrop of delicate white rajnigandha strings, complemented by a lush arrangement of cream roses and deep purple flowers on a rustic wooden cabinet.
This is a classic and timeless pooja backdrop. I created a full arch of yellow flowers and used hanging garlands of orange and yellow marigolds to create a warm, traditional, and auspicious setting.
For a Chhathi pooja, I designed this complete setup. It includes a backdrop of white flower strings framed by greenery, a custom sign, and a beautiful floor rangoli made entirely of fresh marigold petals.
Even a simple setup can be beautiful. Here, I used a metal frame decorated with yellow marigold garlands, hanging bells, and delicate fairy lights to create an intimate and glowing space for a small pooja.
This small stage was set up for a religious discourse. I used hanging wisteria flowers in multiple colors against a sheer curtain with fairy lights to create a beautiful and respectful focal point.
About Sacred Spaces: Pooja & Ceremony Setups
When we plan a pooja setup at home, my priority is keeping your space exactly as I found it. I use temporary suction hooks and non-marking tape for a zero-damage installation, so you do not have to worry about your walls. I also use hydrated Oasis foam blocks for all fresh floral arrangements, which keeps the marigolds and roses looking fresh for up to 36 hours, even in our Bengaluru weather.
My approach to sacred spaces is to blend tradition with your family's unique style. Whether you prefer a minimal, peaceful corner with rajnigandha strings or a grander, vibrant backdrop for a Chhathi or Gruhapravesam, I handle the execution from start to finish.
How I Work
Every setup begins with understanding the space. If you have a compact living room, I suggest my freestanding metal frames that sit flush against the wall and require no nails. For larger areas or stages, I can incorporate props like traditional wooden swings or Rajasthani umbrellas to add depth and culture to the scene.
Freshness Matters
I source fresh local chrysanthemums, roses, and marigolds for my designs. Because I know these ceremonies can last for hours, I ensure every flower is set in moisture-retaining foam. This is my standard practice for all floral arches and backdrops, ensuring they stay vibrant from the first prayer to the final guests.
My Process
- Consultation: We discuss your preferred color palette and specific religious requirements.
- Installation: I arrive 2 to 3 hours before your event to set up the frame, fabric, and floral elements.
- Cleanup: I handle the dismantling the following day and ensure the area is left clean, removing all tape and fallen petals.
