Custom Teak & Ash Wood Chairs
Structure & Joinery
- Wood Selection: Primary construction using seasoned CP Teak Wood or lighter grain Ash Wood based on design preference.
- Construction: Traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery reinforced with industrial adhesives to ensure the frame remains wobble free.
- Customization: Full flexibility on leg styles (tapered, turned, or cabriole) and backrest height based on provided references.
Comfort & Upholstery
- Seat Core: 40 Density High Resilience (HR) foam (Sleepwell/Kurlon equivalent) that prevents sagging.
- Fabrics: Includes base range Chenille, Cotton blends, or Suede. Premium designer fabrics or leather are charged at actuals.
- Cane Options: Hand woven natural rattan work available for backrests or seats in six way or box weave patterns.
Finish
- Coating: 3 coat process including sanding, sealer, and top coat. Options include Matt or Gloss Melamine and PU coating.
- Shades: Custom stains available ranging from Natural Teak and Walnut to Charcoal Black.

- Material: Solid wood planking or Live Edge slabs (Teak, Acacia, or Walnut finish).
- Thickness: Substantial 1.5 inch to 3 inch thickness depending on the structural design.
- Treatment: Wood is seasoned and treated for moisture content balancing to prevent warping in humid conditions.
Base & Support
- Structure: Heavy duty fabrication to ensure zero shake stability for the heavy top.
- Material Options: Choice of solid wood legs (turned/geometric) or fabricated MS metal base with Powder Coating or PVD Gold/Rose Gold finish.
Durability & Finish
- Polish: Premium Polyurethane (PU) Polish (Matt or High Gloss) providing a hard, heat resistant, and water resistant layer.
- Edge Detailing: Custom chamfered or rounded edges for safety and aesthetics.

- Internal Frame: Kiln dried hardwood (Sal or Marandi) internal framing for long term structural rigidity.

- Detailing: Skilled woodworking including fluting, wood turning, molding, or hand carving as per vintage references.
Seat Comfort
- Suspension: Elastic webbing (Niwar) and S springs/Zig zag springs used in the base for bounce and longevity.
- Foam Layers: Multi layered setup using 40 to 50 Density High Resilience (HR) foam core topped with a softy foam or Dacron layer.
Tailoring
- Upholstery: Precision tailoring with options for piping, deep buttoning, or pleating.
- Add ons: Includes 2 to 3 customized throw cushions with the unit.

Why I Make Furniture
For me, furniture isn't just stuff in a room. I get a kick out of the smell of fresh polish and the sound of tools, and yeah, sometimes the tiny details drive me a little crazy. But every piece is a new story. I run a design and build studio, and each item gets way more attention than you'd expect.
How Your Idea Becomes Real
Show me a Pinterest pic, a quick sketch, or just talk it out - I love making things that start from your imagination. I work with homeowners, architects, and interior designers, and we’ve done pieces for homes, hotels, cafes, and offices around Mumbai and beyond.
What I Actually Build
- Seating is my jam: Custom seating solutions like dining chairs, armchairs, and sofas. If you want something different, I’m all in.
- Tables for all spaces: Handmade dining tables, foldable options for small flats, coffee tables, study desks.
- Beds and more: Unique bedroom sets, four-posters, modern upholstered beds, wardrobes, side units.
- Storage: Shoe cabinets, sideboards, custom wardrobes, you name it.
Materials I Love
- Teak and Ash: Real wood makes a difference, especially for bespoke wooden furniture.
- Cane and rattan furniture: I use real cane for lighter, breathable designs.
- Fabrics and metals: Everything from velvet to basic cotton, sometimes with metal inlays for a fresh look.
From Vasai to Your Home
Everything’s built at our Vasai workshop. Sometimes finishing is tough, but I never let anything leave unless I’d put it in my own house. I deliver and install myself - Mumbai, Maharashtra, even across India if needed.

My Story
Back to basics, that's how we roll at Darsh Designs. Every day starts with tool sharpening, hands-on work, no shortcuts. Started here in Vasai, building furniture from scratch - raw wood to finished piece. It's not always smooth, floods happen, delays too, but our team? Solid. I check every product myself before it leaves. Seeing our stuff in fancy homes or busy restaurants, after all that nitty-gritty detailing, feels damn good. More than furniture, it’s about making spaces and connections.
