Pilates for Real Strength and Stability
Forget rigid reps. We use Pilates to build strength that actually lasts, focusing on how your body moves naturally, not just how it looks.
The Pilates reformer is a magical piece of equipment. Here, I'm using it to mimic the swimming breaststroke, which builds back strength, shoulder mobility, and core control all at once. It's a full body exercise with zero impact.
The Pilates roll down is a classic for a reason. Using a theraband for assistance or resistance, we can work on spinal articulation and deep abdominal engagement. It teaches you to control your body from your center.
You don't always need a studio. Here I am working with resistance bands outdoors, preparing for one of my workshops. This movement opens up the chest and strengthens the back, improving posture and shoulder health.
This is what I call 'Beyond Pilates'. The dragon flag is an advanced movement that requires immense core strength and body control. It's a goal we can work towards to develop ultimate stability through the torso.
About Pilates for Strength & Stability
Most Pilates classes stick to strict scripts. I prefer working with what your body actually needs today. We use the reformer to find those tiny stabilizing muscles that standard gym weights often miss, helping you build strength that transfers to real life.
Building a core that holds you up requires more than just crunches. My sessions focus on spinal articulation and deep core engagement, which is the secret to fixing chronic back pain and stiffness. Whether you are using the reformer to de-load your spine or working on mat-based functional stability, the goal is always the same. We need to wake up the muscles that have gone dormant from sitting at a desk all day. I teach out of Yoh Fitness in Richards Town and also conduct outdoor sessions across Bengaluru. We start with a 60-minute assessment to screen your movement patterns, and then we build a program that integrates my Grinding method. It is not about looking good for the mirror. It is about feeling capable when you walk, lift, or stand. If you want to move without that nagging pinch in your shoulder or lower back, let us get to work.
