The Grind: Cricket Training and Match Preparation
Nets aren't enough when you are preparing for Mumbai's toughest leagues. We simulate real match pressure, from fitness to mindset, to get you ready for the MCA circuit.
This is how we prepare for the long format. My players share their experience during a day-long match simulation, learning about patience, stamina, and adapting to changing conditions.
A glimpse into a net session with Aayush Ambekar as he prepares for the season. The focus and intensity here translate directly to performance on the field.
A quick sequence from a batting session with Aayush Ambekar. A powerful pull shot followed by a classic cover drive shows the range of skills we work on.
The fight is in the mind. Here is Aayush Ambekar preparing in the nets for the U-16 MCA Kalpesh Koli Tournament, focusing on mental toughness as much as technique.
A look back at the 2022-23 season which belonged to Aayush Ambekar. His consistency with both bat and ball was a direct result of the hard work put in during sessions like these.
The journey from age 9 to 14. This shows the long-term development process with Aayush, from early drills to becoming a top all-rounder in Mumbai's junior cricket.

Ansh Bhoje, a talented player from the USA, training with me for a month. We worked on specific batting drills to improve his game against both pace and spin.
Here I am working with Ansh Bhoje, a U-15 all-rounder from the USA. He came all the way to my academy to train, focusing on his left-handed batting and right-arm leg spin.
The first game of the season at Azad Maidan. This is where all the off-season training gets put to the test.
About The Grind: Training & Match Preparation
We don't just hit balls in the nets here. Our day-long match simulations are designed to test your patience and stamina, requiring you to bat through three distinct sessions just like a real test match. When you come to our Dombivli facility, you play through the lunch break and the afternoon heat, learning exactly how to hold your wicket when the pitch conditions turn against you.
Success in cricket is rarely about talent alone; it is about discipline. My sessions are built for players who want to compete in Mumbai’s high-stakes tournaments like the Payyade Trophy, Harris Shield, and the Cosmopolitan Shield.
Why the Simulation Matters
Most academies let you hit 20 balls and walk away. That does not help you in a match. In my academy, we recreate the stress of a real game. Whether it is a T20 format or a multi-day test simulation, we focus on:
- Match Awareness: Learning when to attack and when to defend.
- Fitness: Building the stamina to bowl 10 overs or bat for two hours in the heat.
- Mental Toughness: You will make mistakes, but the goal is to never repeat the same one twice.
From Nets to the Maidan
We bridge the gap between practice and the real world. We take players from our nets in Dombivli to the iconic maidans of Mumbai and even outstation tours to places like Bengaluru. This ensures you are not just a 'net bully' but a player who can adapt to new conditions, different bounce, and quality opposition.
Who This Is For
This is for the U12 to U23 player who is serious about breaking into MCA teams or school leagues. If you are looking for a place to train hard, be pushed, and get honest feedback on your technique and tactical game, this is where you belong. We provide the structure, the turf wickets, and the professional scoring stats—you provide the sweat.
Cricket Explained
I've spent nearly a decade helping kids realize that talent is just the starting point. My academy in Dombivli is where we build the engine—the fitness, the tactical brain, and the grit—that takes a student from just playing to competing in top-tier MCA tournaments.
