The process of creating a wedding keepsake begins with carefully placing each preserved petal. This video shows the initial stages of making a beautiful wooden frame for a client.
Adding the personalized details is a key part of the process. Here, I'm placing the custom text and stickers onto a Golden Jubilee anniversary frame before the final resin pour.

About The Art of Preservation: Behind the Scenes
Before I ever pour a single drop of resin, your flowers spend three to seven days in silica sand. This step is non-negotiable because it is the only way to lock in the shape and colour of delicate petals like roses or orchids. Without this dehydration stage, the flowers would rot inside the frame. Once they are perfectly dried, I carefully arrange them by hand before pouring the crystal-clear resin top coat.
How We Preserve Your Memories
Preservation is a slow process, and it cannot be rushed. When we receive your wedding varmala, kaleere, or engagement flowers, they are usually fresh and full of moisture. Resin does not mix well with moisture, which is why the preparation phase is the most critical part of our work.
The Drying Phase We use a professional silica sand dehydration method. This is different from simple air drying. By burying the flowers in this sand, we pull the moisture out while maintaining the three-dimensional structure of the petal. Depending on the density of the flower, this takes anywhere from three days to a full week. We watch them daily to ensure the colour does not fade during the process.
Designing the Layout Once the flowers are dry and stable, we work with you to plan the frame or clock design. Whether you want a clear, transparent block to see the flowers from all angles, or a wooden-framed piece with your wedding photo in the centre, we lay everything out dry first. We check the placement of pearls, wedding ornaments, or custom text before any resin is touched.
The Pouring Process We pour the resin in layers. This is essential for preventing bubbles and ensuring that the items are perfectly suspended in the crystal-clear medium. For thicker keepsakes like our memorial blocks, we perform multiple deep pours. Each layer must cure properly before the next one is added, ensuring the final product is durable and will not yellow over time.
The Final Finish After the final top coat, the piece cures for several days to achieve a glass-like, polished finish. We inspect every edge and corner to ensure it is smooth and safe to display in your home. This is how we ensure that the memories from your big day stay exactly as they were, for a lifetime.
