About Couple & Friendship Portraits
You do not need a perfectly posed photo to get a portrait. I frequently take two separate pictures—one of each person—and merge them into a single composition on A3 paper. It works perfectly for anniversaries or surprise gifts where the original photos were not taken together.
Creating a portrait of two people is about more than just the likeness. It is about capturing the dynamic between you. Whether it is a couple celebrating an anniversary or friends commemorating years of bond, my process remains rooted in traditional techniques.
I use a combination of graphite (HB to 8B) and charcoal to build depth. Every piece starts with a high-resolution review of your provided photos. If you want a combined portrait from separate images, I will first plan the layout to ensure the perspective matches naturally. I draw on professional-grade 200 GSM acid-free art paper, which ensures the sketch remains preserved for years.
Once the shading and detailing are complete, I apply a matte fixative spray. This seals the graphite, preventing smudging or fading over time. Please note that all works are shipped unframed in a sturdy PVC tube, keeping them safe during transit across India.
If you have a specific date in mind, like an upcoming birthday or anniversary, do mention it early. This allows me to manage the queue and ensure your sketch reaches you on time. My goal is to deliver a piece of art that feels as honest as the memory you sent me.
