My Philosophy on Raising Confident Dogs
I founded Confident Dogs to cut through the noise of quick fixes and outdated theories. Here is the journey and philosophy that drives how I help you build a lifelong bond with your dog.
My mission is to be part of a global community focused on educating and supporting pet parents. This photo captures the connection I strive to help every client build with their dog, one based on mutual respect and clear communication.
I am a strong advocate for reward-based training techniques. This isn't just about giving treats; it's a science-based approach that uses positive reinforcement to build a dog's confidence and strengthen the bond you share. It turns training into a joyful activity rather than a battle of wills.
Over my 12-year career, I have had the privilege of working with over 50 different breeds. This experience has given me deep insight into breed-specific behaviors and needs, allowing me to provide tailored advice that works with your dog's natural instincts, not against them.
About My Story & Guiding Principles
I don’t believe in 'obedient robots' or quick fixes, which is why you will never find me using shock or prong collars. My work focuses exclusively on reward-based training that helps your dog feel safe enough to trust you, because behavior is simply a reflection of their emotional state and past experiences.
From Corporate to Canine Behaviour
My journey began in 2013 with Junior, my first rescue dog. He was sensitive and fearful, and when I couldn’t find a trainer who understood that he didn't need to be 'dominated' into obedience, I realized I had to change paths. I stepped away from my corporate career to learn what dogs actually need: security, clear communication, and time to decompress.
Why My Approach is Different
Over the last 12 years, I have worked with over 50 different breeds in Bengaluru and beyond. I’ve learned that whether you have an energetic puppy or a rescue with a complex history, the solution is rarely about a list of commands.
My holistic approach considers the whole dog:
- Emotional Health: We look at why a dog is acting out—is it fear, confusion, or just a lack of proper rest?
- Genetics & Biology: I factor in breed-specific needs rather than applying a one-size-fits-all training manual.
- Team Collaboration: My training methods are informed by insights from vets, nutritionists, and other pet professionals, ensuring your dog's behaviour is supported by their overall physical well-being.
No Shortcuts, Just Understanding
If you are looking for a trainer to 'fix' your dog in an hour, I am likely not the right fit. However, if you are ready to learn your dog's language and put in the work to build a relationship based on mutual respect, I am here to guide you. We focus on 'Raising Confident Dogs'—dogs who feel safe in our busy city environment, not just dogs who sit on command because they are afraid of the alternative.
