Practical Self-Defense Skills for Real-Life Situations
Self-defense is a survival skill, not just a sport. See how we teach kids and women to stay calm, use their natural instincts, and act fast when danger strikes.
In this video from a self defense workshop, I demonstrate simple but effective techniques for school children. I explain how to use your body as a weapon and how to escape from common grabs, empowering them with the confidence to handle difficult situations.
Here I am speaking at a press conference about the importance of martial arts for self empowerment. I discuss how we train children and women in self defense, and how MMA builds not just fighters, but strong, confident individuals ready for any challenge.
About More Than a Fight: Real-World Self-Defense
In real-life danger, you don't need a black belt; you need to use what you have. I teach students to use their nails, teeth, and body weight, not just complex kicks. When someone grabs you, the goal isn't to win a flashy fight—it's to create an opening, make noise, and get out safely.
Martial arts is often misunderstood as just punching bags or memorizing forms. Here in Laxmi Nagar, we teach self-defense as a way to stay safe in the real world.
Why it matters
Whether you are a student traveling to tuition or a woman commuting alone, the ability to protect yourself is not a luxury. Our sessions focus on three main pillars:
- The Mindset: We train you not to panic. Most crimes happen when the victim freezes. We simulate stressful situations so you learn to react with logic, not fear.
- Natural Weapons: You have weapons you don't even realize. We train you to use your nails, teeth, and gravity. If someone grabs you, you don't need to be a wrestler; you need to bite, poke eyes, and create a distraction to escape.
- Awareness: Understanding what a 'bad touch' is or spotting a threat before it happens is the first step of self-defense.
We conduct regular workshops across Delhi schools, teaching kids that being small doesn't mean being weak. If you can bite, kick the knee, or scream for help, you have a fighting chance. My goal is to build your confidence so that you walk with your head high. This isn't about being an aggressive fighter; it's about being an aware, safe individual.
Combat MMA Club
I don't just teach techniques; I teach survival. My club here in Laxmi Nagar is a place where every kid learns that their safety is in their own hands. I treat my students like my own family, pushing them to be street-smart and confident, not just inside the mats.
