About this collection
Birds are creatures of habit and comfort, which is why I skip the sterile studio. I come to your home or garden, allowing your feathered friend to explore their own space while I use natural light and patience to capture those quick, expressive head tilts and unique behaviours that you know so well.
My training as an architect taught me to observe structure, but working with birds requires me to see rhythm. Whether it is a shy cockatiel needing time to warm up or a group of fluffy chicks exploring a garden, I adapt my lens to their pace. I don't force poses because a bird's real charm lies in their spontaneity—the way they fluff their feathers, their curious look, or the bond they share with you.
My Approach to Bird Photography
- Comfort First: I prefer shooting in environments where your bird feels safe. This reduces stress for them and gives us much more natural, authentic expressions.
- Natural Lighting: I rely on daylight rather than harsh flash equipment, which keeps the environment calm and comfortable for your feathered family member.
- Storytelling: I look for the small details that make your bird distinct, such as their specific markings, their favourite perch, or how they interact with family members.
