Learn the Ropes: Beginner-Friendly Climbing Workshops
Never touched a rock? Koi tension nahi. Our workshops are designed to get you from 'I can't' to 'I did it' in a safe, judgment-free space with a community that cheers for every move.
Mind the chalk! An important part of our outdoor ethics workshop is learning how to use gear responsibly, like brushing holds after you climb to preserve the rock for others.
Learning how to place a crash pad is one of the most important safety skills for outdoor bouldering. We cover everything from placement for different types of falls to proper carrying techniques.
Learning is a key part of the CLAW experience. Our workshops are interactive sessions where you can ask questions, share knowledge, and learn from experienced female climbers.

A beginner gets her first taste of bouldering with two spotters guiding her. Our workshops are focused on building a strong foundation of safety and technique.
Our instructors demonstrate how to use a Skillzboard, a portable tool for practicing knots and rope techniques in a safe, hands-on way before you even touch the rock.

Chalked up and ready to go. We provide high-quality chalk, like this Gorilla Grip from Friction Labs, to ensure you have the best possible grip on the rock.
Pouring chalk into a chalk bag. We make sure you have all the necessary gear, so you can just show up and be ready to climb.

About Learn the Ropes: Beginner-Friendly Workshops
We start with the basics—no scary jargon, just real skills. Whether it is learning how to place a crash pad so your ankles stay safe or mastering your first knot on our portable Skillzboard practice tools, we make the learning curve feel more like a fun challenge than a test. You show up with curiosity, and we provide the La Sportiva shoes, chalk, and harnesses to get you moving on the rock comfortably.
Climbing can feel intimidating if you have never strapped on a harness before, but our beginner festivals in Hampi, Badami, and Sethan are built to change that. We strip away the competition and replace it with a 1:5 student-teacher ratio, ensuring you get enough one-on-one attention to build muscle memory safely.
What you will actually learn
Our workshops cover the fundamentals of movement and safety. You will learn route reading, proper spotting techniques to keep your partners safe, and how to use gear responsibly. We believe in teaching the 'why' alongside the 'how'—like why brushing holds matters for the environment, or how to properly fit your shoes to prevent foot pain. By the end of the trip, you will know how to manage rope safety, handle basic knots, and trust your feet on the rock.
Why it works
We are a non-profit movement, not a gym. The vibe here is about empowerment. You are going to fall, you might get a few bruises, and you will definitely sweat, but you will also have a group of women shouting encouragement the moment you start to doubt yourself. We provide all the technical equipment—from crash pads and ropes to helmets and high-quality chalk—so the only thing you need to worry about is finding your grip. Come as you are, ready to get a little rowdy, and leave with a new skill set and a community that has your back. Chale? 🪨✨
