The CLAW Climbing Festival Experience
This is the heart of CLAW. It is not just about scaling rocks—it is about the community, the messy, loud, sweaty, and joyful reality of our festivals in Hampi and beyond. Come see what happens when women take up space outdoors.
This is what our community is all about: challenging yourself on the rock with the most supportive crew cheering you on. We create a space where you can try hard, push your limits, and feel completely supported every step of the way.
There's nothing quite like the feeling of reaching the top of a boulder as the sun sets. Our climbing festivals are set in stunning locations like Hampi, where you get to experience moments of pure magic like this.
More than just a climbing trip, this is a community. Expect lots of hugs, encouragement, and the kind of connections that last long after the chalk has washed off. This is your crew.
Come along for a day at one of our festivals. You'll see us hiking to the crags, spotting each other on tough climbs, and celebrating every success, big or small. The energy is absolutely contagious.
Take a deep breath of that fresh mountain air. Our retreats aren't just about climbing; they're about disconnecting from the daily grind and reconnecting with nature and yourself, surrounded by epic landscapes.
Watch our climbers in action, tackling the iconic boulders of Hampi. This video shows the technique, strength, and incredible support system in play, from careful spotting to the celebration at the top.
We believe climbing is for everyone. A huge part of our mission is making the sport accessible, which includes teaching and sharing our gear with local kids. Seeing their joy is what it's all about.
About this collection
Don't worry about being 'fit enough' or knowing the technical jargon before you show up. Whether you are scaling your first boulder in Hampi or just hanging out by the campfire, the biggest thing you will need to bring is yourself. We provide all the gear and guidance, so leave the gear anxiety at home. Just be ready for dusty hands, a few inevitable bruises, and a crew that will cheer for you louder than anyone ever has.
Real Talk: What Happens at a Festival?
Our festivals are built on the idea that climbing is for everyone, regardless of experience. When you join us, you are not just signing up for climbing—you are stepping into a supportive ecosystem.
The Climbing We focus on bouldering and rope climbing in wild, iconic Indian landscapes like Hampi, Badami, and Sethan. You will get hands-on coaching with a 1:5 ratio, meaning you get actual eyes on your movement. Whether you are learning how to spot a friend safely or conquering a route that scared you yesterday, our instructors break it down into simple, manageable steps.
The Vibe When you are not on the rock, you are probably doing yoga, slacklining, or sitting around a fire. We intentionally build in downtime because that is where the real bonding happens. We handle the guesthouse logistics and the transport, so your only job is to show up and be present.
Who is this for? If you are a woman or identify as one, you belong here. We have seen total beginners go from being scared of a small rock to crushing boulders, and we have seen seasoned climbers find a new community. You will deal with sweat, sand, and maybe some blistered fingers, but you will leave with a completely different perspective on what you are capable of.
Chale? Let us get you on the rock.
Climb Like a Woman
We started CLAW because we craved a space to be loud, rowdy, and strong without anyone telling us to act like a lady. We are an all-women-led NGO, and we are here to make the outdoors real, safe, and accessible for every single woman, no matter your experience level.
