About this collection

When we hold these sessions, we often set up a communal altar. You are welcome to bring offerings like fresh flowers, tea lights, or vegetarian food. It is a simple, tangible way to participate in the practice, and we find that bringing something to share creates a beautiful sense of collective devotion.

The practice of Guru Devotion is a cornerstone of our spiritual path at Choe Khor Sum Ling. By remembering the kindness of our gurus, we cultivate a sense of connection and gratitude that sustains our own practice. These gatherings are not just about formal rituals, but about coming together to study, chant, and dedicate merit for the benefit of all beings.

Our Practices

We host various sessions dedicated to our teachers, including the Lama Chopa and Tsog offering practice. Lama Chopa is a profound method of guru devotion where practitioners pay homage and request blessings. We also perform Cittamani Tara mantra recitations and swift return prayers, which are deeply meaningful to our community. These events are guided by our senior teachers, such as Geshe Ngawang Norbu or Ven. Lekden, who ensure the ancient wisdom is shared in a way that is applicable to our daily lives.

Participation

Whether you are a long-time practitioner or new to Buddhism, you are welcome to join. Our events are hybrid, meaning you can visit our center in Domlur or join us via Zoom. We post links and schedules in our WhatsApp community, so you never miss an update. There is no fee for these sessions, as we operate on the generosity of our supporters and the belief that Dharma teachings should be accessible to everyone. If you have questions about the specific mantras or the significance of these practices, our teachers are always available during sessions to guide you.
