About this collection
Attending a formal 'Geshe' ceremony is more than observing a milestone; it is an immersion into the lineage of our teachings. For our students, witnessing this academic and spiritual culmination at Sera Jey Monastery offered a rare, firsthand connection to the monastic traditions that underpin everything we study at our Domlur centre.
The 'Geshe' degree represents the culmination of years of rigorous study in Buddhist philosophy. Being present in Bylakupe, at the historic Sera Jey Monastery, allowed our community to step outside our regular weekend courses and directly witness the source of the wisdom we share here in Bangalore.
This trip was a profound reminder of our shared commitment as a Dharma family. Beyond the ceremonies, which were marked by traditional offerings of khatas (white silk scarves) and communal meals, the event was about solidarity. It highlighted the unbreakable bond between the lay community and the monastic Sangha.
For those who could not attend, these images serve as an invitation to engage more deeply with the monastic roots of our practice. Whether you are interested in attending our upcoming pujas, exploring our structured Buddhist philosophy courses, or simply wanting to understand the lineage of our teachers, we encourage you to connect. Our Sangha is growing, and there is always a place for those who wish to walk the path of the Dharma with us. We invite you to join our future gatherings, both online and in-person, as we continue to study, practice, and celebrate together.
