You do not need to be a Buddhist or have prior experience to join these celebrations. Our events at the Domlur centre are open to everyone—whether you want to sit in quiet meditation, observe the altar offerings, or simply soak in the peaceful energy of a merit-multiplying day. We welcome you to bring friends and family, and you are always free to contribute by bringing simple offerings like fresh flowers or tea lights if you wish.
Honouring the Dharma Together
We come together as a community to mark the most significant days in the Buddhist calendar, such as Losar (the Tibetan New Year), Saka Dawa, Chökhor Düchen, and Lhabab Duchen. These are merit-multiplying days, where we believe our collective intentions, prayers, and practices can have a profound positive impact.
What to Expect at Our Celebrations
- Rituals & Pujas: Our programs often include the recitation of texts like the Vajra Cutter Sutra or the Golden Light Sutra, along with guided Shakyamuni Buddha pujas.
- Offerings: We maintain a traditional altar. Attendees are welcome to bring offerings such as butter lamps, tea service items, or floral garlands to help create an auspicious environment.
- Community Connection: These days are not just about rituals; they are about connection. After prayers, we often share tea, coffee, or a vegetarian lunch, giving us time to connect as a Sangha.
- Accessibility: Most of our festival events are held in a hybrid format. If you cannot join us in person at our Domlur centre, you can participate via Zoom.

Everything at CKSL is offered freely, though donations are gratefully accepted to help cover the costs of logistics, refreshments, and floral works. We suggest joining our WhatsApp community to stay updated on upcoming festival dates, schedules, and the Zoom links for our sessions. Whether you are coming to write the Heart Sutra on a quiet afternoon or joining a full-day Losar celebration, all are welcome.
