Happy Tails: Adoption Stories

Every adoption is a victory. See how our rescued Indies—from shy puppies to long-term residents—are finding their forever families in Bengaluru and beyond.

The day it all changed for Foxie. This was the moment she left the shelter in January 2025 with her new family. The journey from a street dog to a beloved pet starts with one decision to adopt.

Look at that face! This is Foxie, now a confident and happy girl in her forever home. Her bright eyes and perky ears tell a story of love and security that every rescued Indie deserves.

From the streets to the salon. Here is the lovely Foxie, looking dapper in a bandana after a grooming session. We love seeing our adopted Indies getting pampered and treated like the royalty they are.

A princess on her throne. The beautiful Foxie, adopted from our center, is seen here taking a very serious nap on her personalized bed. This is the life of comfort and love we dream of for all our animals.

Comfort is key. Foxie enjoying her soft, personalized bed is a sight that warms our hearts. When you adopt, you don't just save a life, you give an animal a lifetime of warmth, safety, and happiness.

The friendship between a child and a dog is one of life's purest joys. Here, our adopted Indie, Shadow, shows how gentle and loving rescued dogs can be with even the smallest members of the family.

This picture of little Sora cuddling with her big brother Max is guaranteed to melt your heart. Seeing a once-scared puppy find safety and friendship in her new home is an incredible feeling.

About this collection

When you adopt from us, the process is about finding a personality match, not just a specific look or age. We take the time to understand your lifestyle, energy levels, and home environment to ensure the Indie you choose will settle in comfortably, whether you live in an apartment or a house with space to run. It is about setting you and your new family member up for a successful life together from day one.

Rewriting the Story

Adoption is the heart of what we do at CARE. Each of our rescue stories, like those of Foxie or Sora, begins with a moment of trauma or abandonment and ends with the comfort of a personalized bed and a family who loves them. When you choose to adopt an Indie, you are not just getting a pet; you are actively fighting the cycle of street-dog abandonment and supporting a more compassionate future for Bengaluru.

The Indie Advantage

Many families hesitate because they are unsure about the temperament of street dogs. Indies are resilient, highly intelligent, and incredibly loyal. They are naturally adapted to our climate, which often means fewer health issues and lower maintenance costs compared to imported breeds. When a street dog enters a home, their transition from a survivor to a companion is profound—they understand they are safe, and the gratitude they show is truly special.

How Adoption Works

We don't just hand over a dog. We guide you through the process:

  • Personality Matching: We assess the dogs in our care to match them with the right home environment.
  • Medical Readiness: All our adoptable Indies are vaccinated, dewormed, and sterilized (if of age).
  • Post-Adoption Support: We are part of your journey, helping you navigate the first few weeks of adjustment as your new dog learns to trust their surroundings.

By adopting, you make space in our shelter for another rescue in desperate need of medical care. You aren't just saving one life; you are effectively saving two.
