Better reflexes and sharper glove work start with the basics. I use my background as a sports fitness trainer to help you build speed and technique on the field.

Mastering the basics is what sets great keepers apart. This is a classic drill where the keeper works on technique and soft hands by collecting throws from the coach.

This is a crucial skill for every keeper. We are working on a one-handed collection drill down the leg side, which requires sharp reflexes and soft hands.

More work on one-handed takes. This drill enhances agility and control, preparing our keepers for those tough chances behind the stumps.

This is a "right hand, wrong hip" drill for wicket-keepers. It trains coordination and flexibility, forcing the keeper to adapt to awkward bounces and collections.

That's how you do it. I am demonstrating the correct technique for a wicket-keeping drill, focusing on footwork and hand position.

About Wicket-Keeping & Fielding Fundamentals

Most keepers get caught out by bad body weight distribution before the ball is even delivered. In our sessions, I focus on correcting your crouch and head position so you can react instantly to an awkward bounce. We run specific drills, like the one-handed leg-side collection, to force you to rely on sharp reflexes and soft hands rather than just snatching at the ball.

Fielding and wicket-keeping are often the most neglected parts of cricket training, yet they are where games are frequently won or lost. My approach combines pure cricket technique with the conditioning of a sports fitness trainer. When you train with me, you aren't just standing behind the stumps. We work on your agility, footwork, and your ability to anticipate the ball's trajectory, whether it's coming from a fast bowler or a spinner.

Why Technique Matters

  • Soft Hands: Great keepers let the ball come to them. We use drills with props to eliminate the habit of 'snatching' at the ball, ensuring you absorb the pace and keep it in the gloves.
  • Reaction Speed: As a fitness trainer, I incorporate reflex drills into our wicket-keeping modules. We use deflection ramps and varied angles to make sure your hands move faster than your brain.
  • Fielding Agility: Fielding isn't just about throwing; it's about the first step. We work on diving mechanics and ground fielding techniques that keep you safe while improving your reach.

We train at both our Centurions Cricket Academy in Kurla and Chitrak Kurla and at the Chitrakoot Ground in Andheri West. Whether you are a club-level keeper looking to fix a specific technical flaw, or a young player learning the game, I break down the biomechanics of your movement. If you've been struggling with catches down the leg side or you feel slow off the mark, we identify the exact adjustment needed to fix it. Cricket is a game of small margins and I am here to help you get those right.

I'm Jitesh, and I believe you don't need shortcuts to be a great keeper. You need repetition, the right technique, and a coach who looks at the small details—like your head position—to stop you from making mistakes.
