Handmade Shadu Clay Ganesha Idols
I sculpt every Majha Bappa by hand using natural, eco-friendly Shadu clay. No molds, no mass production—just unique, soulful idols ready for a conscious visarjan.
This custom 'Mayur Pankh' Ganesha is one of my favorite commissions. I sculpted each peacock feather individually from Shadu clay to create a detailed backdrop for Bappa, who holds a small peacock. The entire idol is unpainted, highlighting the natural, earthy texture of the eco-friendly clay.
This serene Ganesha rests on a crescent moon, a design I sculpted for the first time based on a client's request. It's a completely handmade Shadu clay idol, perfect for an eco-friendly visarjan.
Here you can see the delicate process of sculpting. I use fine tools to add details to the dhoti and ornaments on this 'Bappa on the Moon' idol. Every part is shaped by hand, with no molds involved.
This is me working on a custom Ganesha idol at my wheel. The process is slow and requires a lot of focus, but it's how I ensure every handmade clay sculpture is unique and filled with devotion.
About Featured
I don't use industrial molds for any of my Ganesha idols. Each piece is sculpted by hand from a raw lump of Shadu clay, which means every Bappa has a unique expression and posture. Because I rely on natural air-drying to prevent cracks, please plan for at least 7 days of drying time before your idol is ready for shipping.
When you commission a Ganesha idol from me, you are not getting a factory-made product. You are getting a piece of my devotion sculpted from river clay. The process is entirely meditative and slow.
Why Shadu Clay?
I exclusively use Shadu clay because it is 100% natural and biodegradable. When it is time for visarjan, the idol dissolves safely in water without leaving behind harmful chemicals or synthetic materials. It is the most respectful way to welcome Bappa into your home and send Him back to nature.
The Customization Process
Whether you want a traditional seated pose or a thematic design like 'Bappa on a Crescent Moon' or a 'Mayur Pankh' (peacock feather) backdrop, I work with you on the concept. Because I build the internal clay armature from scratch, I can handle complex, gravity-defying elements that you would not find in standard store-bought idols.
Shipping & Handling
I understand that clay is fragile. For standard 8-10 inch idols, I use 5-ply corrugated boxes with multiple layers of bubble wrap. For my premium 12-15 inch thematic sculptures, I use crate-supported packaging to ensure those delicate features like peacock feathers or hands arrive safely at your doorstep anywhere in India.
