Custom Furniture Painting and Upcycling
Stop hiding that worn-out cupboard or table. I paint custom designs directly onto your existing furniture to give it a fresh, vibrant second life.
A detailed shot of the hand-painted cupboard. This close-up shows the folk art style of the birds, with their patterned wings and bright colors set against the calm blue background.
Here you can see the delicate details of the tree branches and blossoms on the cupboard doors. Each leaf and flower was individually painted to create a full, lively scene.
This image focuses on how the artwork seamlessly integrates with the furniture's hardware. The painted branches appear to grow naturally around the handles, showing a thoughtful approach to the upcycled furniture design.
About Upcycled Furniture Makeovers
I focus entirely on the art, so please ensure your furniture is structurally sound before we begin. I handle everything from sanding and priming to the final artistic layer, and I always finish with a layer of polyurethane to protect the design from daily cleaning and wear.
My approach to upcycling is all about personality. Whether you have a bedside table that looks tired or a cupboard door that needs a focal point, I use acrylic and chalk paints to create custom folk art, floral motifs, or modern patterns that fit your space.
The Process Every project follows a strict three-step prep process to ensure the paint actually lasts.
- Surface Prep: I sand the original finish to create a surface the paint can actually grip.
- Priming: I apply a high-adhesion primer so the colors pop and don't peel.
- Sealing: The final step is a polyurethane (PU) coat. This is essential for furniture because it creates a durable barrier against dust, moisture, and mild cleaning agents.
What I Cover I specialize in flat surfaces like door panels, tabletops, and cabinet fronts. I love incorporating traditional elements like Madhubani birds or Paithani-inspired borders, but I am just as comfortable with abstract doodles or contemporary styles.
What I Don't Do To keep my focus on the artwork, I do not perform carpentry repairs. If your furniture has loose joints, missing handles, or deep structural damage, please get those fixed by a carpenter before shipping the item or calling me in. My work begins once the piece is ready to be painted.
