Handcrafted Wooden Caricature Figurines
Welcome to the Land of Lilliput. I turn cherished photos into tangible, hand-carved wooden memories, sculpted right here in my Kolkata studio.
This video shows the entire journey of creating a custom pet figurine. From a photo of the real dog, I hand carve the wood, meticulously paint every detail, and present the final wooden caricature, capturing the pet's unique personality forever.
I love bringing couples' stories to life in wood. This custom couple caricature, created from a cherished photo for a client in Texas, shows how I capture the bond and likeness of two people in a single, heartfelt anniversary gift.
Turning a person's photo into a 3D wooden caricature is my specialty. This piece highlights how I translate a 2D image into a tangible figurine, complete with the subject's style, expression, and even their accessories.
This is a glimpse into my limited edition 'Joy Baba Felunath' series. It shows some of the key characters alongside the custom packaging, making it a complete collectible set for any fan of Satyajit Ray's cinematic world.
Every angle matters when creating a personalized figurine. This collage shows a finished custom caricature from the front, side, and back, giving you a full 360-degree view of the detailed carving and painting work.
This set of images showcases a custom couple figurine from multiple perspectives. You can see the final painted piece, how they embrace from the back, and the personalized signature on the base, showing the complete journey from photo to a finished keepsake.
About Featured
To create an accurate 3D caricature, I need three distinct photos: a front profile, a side profile, and a full-outfit shot. These angles allow me to capture the details that define your personality, from the way you wear your watch to the specific drape of a saree. Once I receive your references, I spend the next 15-20 days carving the basswood block and painting it by hand to ensure the final piece feels exactly like you.
My process is intentionally slow. I do not use machines or 3D scans. Instead, I use traditional carving tools and blocks of basswood or lime wood to chisel each figure by hand. This material is choice because it is shatter-resistant and holds the fine details of a miniature caricature well.
When you order, the 15-20 day timeline accounts for the time required to sketch, carve, and apply the matte acrylic finish. For couple figurines, I focus on the interaction between the two figures, ensuring the poses feel natural and the chemistry is captured. I can also add small details like a wedding date or hashtag on the wooden base if you are gifting this for a special occasion.
Beyond custom portraits, I also maintain a line of limited-edition pieces. My 'Joy Baba Felunath' collection, for instance, celebrates a piece of Kolkata’s film history through an angular, geometric low-poly style that differs from the rounded, soft aesthetic of my custom portraits. Whether you are looking for a quirky anniversary gift, a memorial for a pet, or a collector's item for your shelf, I pack every piece with care to survive the journey from my studio to your doorstep, whether you are in Kolkata, Texas, or anywhere in between.
