About Creative Vessels: Teapots, Jars & More
We do not just place plants in glass; we balance the ecosystem first. By layering precise amounts of drainage stones and activated charcoal at the base of every teapot or decanter, we create a self-sustaining environment where the plants effectively recycle their own moisture, meaning you can enjoy the lush greenery without the worry of constant upkeep.
There is a quiet joy in watching a plant ecosystem thrive inside an unexpected vessel like an antique teapot or a crystal decanter. When we design these pieces at our Nirvana Country studio, we focus on the interplay between the glass, the substrate, and the humidity-loving plants like Fittonia or moss.
Why Closed Vessels Work
Unlike open pots that need daily attention, these glass containers act as miniature greenhouses. The lid keeps the moisture trapped, creating a natural water cycle. This is why we tell our clients—who often worry about watering too much—that less is almost always more.
Styling Your Space
These vessels serve as living sculptures. A teapot terrarium fits perfectly in a cozy reading nook or on a coffee table, while our taller decanters make excellent statement pieces for office desks. Because we hand-select every piece of glass, no two terrariums are identical. Whether you are choosing one for yourself or as a thoughtful gift, you are getting a piece of nature that has been acclimatized in our studio for at least two weeks before it ever reaches you.
If you have a special glass jar or a sentimental container gathering dust, we can often breathe new life into it by building a custom terrarium inside. It is our way of promoting sustainability while making your home feel a little more connected to the earth.
ByTheLeaf
We started ByTheLeaf with a love for things that grow slowly and a vintage typewriter to write our notes. Our studio in Gurugram is where we craft these little worlds, ensuring every teapot or jar is perfectly balanced to thrive in your home.
