Handcrafted Creative Tray Gardens
Bring a little piece of nature home with these tiny, handcrafted worlds. From zen landscapes to playful miniature stories, I design each tray garden to add a bit of green magic to your desk or balcony.
A serene succulent tray garden. I used a variety of succulents with different colors and textures to create a miniature landscape around a meditating figurine.
One of my favorite creations. This large, shell-shaped planter is filled with a cascade of succulents, including a beautiful string of pearls.
An example of an indoor plant tray arrangement. I've combined several leafy plants with different colors and a small figurine to create a lush mini-garden.
These arrangements were created as special gifts for Rakhi. They feature beautiful plants and miniatures to create a personalized and living gift.
A patriotic tray garden I created for Independence Day. It features a miniature India Gate surrounded by ZZ plants, whose arched leaves create a beautiful frame.
A cactus and succulent arrangement designed to look like a desert landscape. I use rocks and white sand to complete the scene, along with tiny monk figurines.
A close-up of a vibrant indoor plant arrangement. The mix of pink, green, and white leaves creates a stunning display of natural color.
This succulent arrangement is built into a multi-level, rock-like planter. It allows for a variety of succulents to be displayed at different heights.
More examples of my plant arrangements for Rakhi. Gifting a plant is a wonderful way to give something that will grow and be cherished.
A couple of cute succulent arrangements. One is in a pot with a girl holding a heart, and the other features a Gollum Jade in a simple, rustic pot.
About Creative Tray Gardens
I handcraft these trays by carefully selecting hardy succulents and pairing them with miniatures that tell a story. Whether it is a meditating monk in a zen layout or a tiny desert scene, the trick is balancing the plant growth with the figurines. They are low-maintenance, but keeping them by a window with bright indirect light is the key to keeping the colors vibrant and the plants happy.
How I Build Your Tiny World
When you order a tray garden, I do not just put plants in a pot. I look at the tray as a canvas. I start by preparing a well-draining soil mix that keeps the succulents healthy, as these plants hate having wet roots.
Then comes the fun part: the hardscaping. I use elements like river pebbles, white chips, or slate to create paths and mountains. Finally, I place the figurines. I have a whole collection of tiny people, monks, animals, and furniture. If you want a specific theme like a quiet reading nook, a patriotic scene with the India Gate, or a fun birthday setup, I mix and match these pieces until the scene feels just right.
Care Tips for Your Tray
- Light: Place your tray near a window where it gets plenty of bright, indirect sunlight. Avoid harsh direct sun during the peak afternoon.
- Watering: Since these are usually succulents or Jade plants, water sparingly. Use a dropper or a small spoon to water the soil directly, not the leaves.
- Maintenance: If a plant grows too big or a figurine needs a shift, feel free to gently rearrange. That is the beauty of a tray garden.
I am based in Faridabad and I am happy to guide you on how to pick a theme that matches your space. Whether it is for your office desk, a bedside table, or a gift for a loved one, let us build something unique.
