About Indian Folk Art Exploration
Our folk art courses are project-based, meaning you walk away with finished pieces like a Madhubani canvas or a Kerala Mural. You don't just learn about the history; you master the specific motifs and lining techniques—such as gold foiling or natural pigment handling—required to bring these stories to life.
Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to refine your technique, our folk art modules are designed to be accessible. We focus on the 'why' behind the art. When we teach Madhubani, we look at how geometric patterns and natural motifs tell mythological stories. For Pichwai, we guide you through the intricate detail required for Gau Mata or Srinathji paintings.
Unlike casual drop-in sessions, our structured folk art courses cover the essential history, specific motifs, and authentic techniques of forms like Kerala Mural. All specialized instruction sheets and art papers are included in your course fee, though for advanced media like Tanjore, we do ask you to source specific foils and stones separately. If you are aiming for home decor, these sessions will leave you with one to three finished, frame-ready masterpieces. We limit our batch sizes to ensure you get personal guidance, especially when you are tackling complex lining or gold foil work for the first time.
