Intricate Pen & Ink Drawings
I spend hours layering dots and fine lines to create these meditative mandala patterns. Whether you want a custom design for your home or a unique gift, every piece is hand-drawn right here in Mumbai.
A throwback to my 'Game of Thrones' zentangle. This large piece is filled with sigils and symbols from the series, all drawn with a Pigma Micron pen. It's a great example of a highly personalized and themed artwork.
A relaxing session of doodling with a cup of coffee. These abstract patterns are a great way to unwind and can be developed into larger, more complex zentangle pieces.
A small mandala created for the Inktober challenge. This design features a mix of dot work (stippling) and clean lines to create texture and depth.
This floral motif, inspired by Indian temple art, was another piece from my Inktober series. The design is framed in a traditional shape, making it suitable for various decorative uses.
A circular mandala design created with a Micron 03 pen. The pattern uses repeating swirls and stippling to create a sense of movement and depth.
This flame-like motif was my fourth drawing for the Inktober challenge. I used a combination of solid lines and stippling to give the "flame" a textured, glowing effect.
A floral mandala design from my Inktober series. This piece combines line work and dot work to create different textures within the petals.
This floral motif uses repeating scallop patterns to create a sense of fullness. It's a simple yet elegant design, drawn entirely with black ink.
A stippled floral mandala from my Inktober challenge. The shading is achieved entirely by placing tiny dots, a technique that requires patience but creates a beautiful, soft texture.
This circular mandala features leaf-like patterns and a stippled center. It's a calming, nature-inspired design created with fine-liner pens.
About Intricate Pen & Ink Drawings
These drawings look simple from a distance, but the secret is in the stippling and line density I use to create depth. I work primarily with Sakura Pigma Micron pens on heavy Bristol board or acid-free paper, ensuring the ink stays sharp and fade-proof for years. If you are looking for a specific theme, like a floral motif or a geometric pattern, we can collaborate on the layout before I start the final inking process.
The Meditative Process of Mandala Art
I have always found pen and ink work to be incredibly meditative. It is not just about drawing patterns, it is about the patience required to fill a page with thousands of tiny dots or precise, sweeping lines. My process starts with a rough sketch on paper to map out the geometry, followed by layering with waterproof, archival-grade fine-liners.
Why Archival Quality Matters
When I do commission work for Mumbai clients, I do not cut corners on materials. I use Sakura Pigma Micron pens because they do not bleed or fade, and I stick to 200+ GSM Bristol board or acid-free paper. This ensures your artwork does not yellow or smudge over time. Whether it is a detailed zentangle for a workspace or a custom festive motif, you are getting a piece built to last.
Customization & Collaboration
I love taking your specific ideas and weaving them into the geometry. If you have a particular theme, like temple architecture, floral motifs, or even symbolic elements, I can integrate those into the mandala structure.
- Initial Sketch: We agree on the core motif and density.
- Inking: I handle the actual line work, which takes 10 to 14 days depending on complexity.
- Delivery: Your piece comes flat-packed in a reinforced envelope, ready for you to frame.
