My Fitness Journey: More Than a Trainer
Fitness isn't just about sets and reps. It starts with how we think, how we recover, and how we show up for ourselves. Here is a look into my own practice and the principles I use to build strength from the inside out.
To new beginnings and experiences. I'm grateful to be a student of Somatic Experiencing, learning to go deep into the body and mind to find our truest self. This knowledge is a core part of my holistic coaching approach.
Against all odds, I finished my first half marathon. I landed in Bali with a bad cold, a glute injury, and zero stamina, but I decided to just finish it. The moral of the story: it's all in the mind.
Four years of gratitude journaling. This simple habit has been transformative for my mental health, helping me focus on the positive, track my goals, and be more critical of my own progress.
An excerpt from "The 5 AM Club." This book has been a game-changer for me, reinforcing the power of habits, discipline, and self-control. Personal discipline is a muscle; the more you stretch it, the stronger it grows.
I don't usually read self-help books, but "The 5 AM Club" by Robin Sharma is different. It's a treasure trove of information on time management, consistency, and finding balance. I highly recommend it.
A key concept from "The 5 AM Club": Transient Hypofrontality. This is the science behind why waking up early can lead to a state of flow, creativity, and peak performance.
The Lifetime Habit Arc from "The 5 AM Club." Understanding the cycle of trigger, ritual, reward, and repetition is the key to installing any great habit and making it automatic.
About this collection
I don't just track numbers on a scale; I help you navigate your nervous system and build habits that actually stick. Whether I’m documenting a half-marathon run despite an injury or sharing my daily journaling practice, I show this because true fitness is mental. If you want a coach who understands that stress, sleep, and your inner dialogue are just as important as your deadlift form, let’s talk.
Why Mindset is My First Priority
Most people think fitness is purely physical. It’s not. It’s about the voice in your head that tells you to stop when things get hard. That’s why I study Somatic Experiencing—to understand how the mind and body connect. When you feel stressed or overwhelmed, your body holds that tension, and no amount of cardio will fix it if the foundation is off.
Living What I Preach
I share my journey not to boast, but to show that real health involves real challenges. When I ran my first half-marathon in Bali, I was dealing with a glute injury, a sick child, and a cold. Everything that could go wrong did. I didn't finish with a record time, but I finished. That is the resilience I teach my clients in Whitefield and online. It’s not about being perfect; it’s about showing up.
Building Sustainable Habits
I don’t believe in crash diets or 'superfood' hype. My routine is built on the basics:
- Morning Rituals: I use tools like gratitude journaling and reading to structure my mindset before the day starts.
- Food as Fuel: Whether it’s Poha or Sambar, I focus on balanced, protein-rich meals that nourish rather than restrict.
- Compound Movements: I prioritize heavy lifting because it changes your body composition and your confidence.
If you are tired of yo-yo dieting and want to build a lifestyle that actually lasts, you need a coach who has done the work herself. Let’s stop shrinking and start growing strong.
