Power Up Your Breaststroke: Technical Coaching in Faridabad
Stop wasting energy on a slow glide. We focus on the short axis mechanics of the breaststroke, using targeted drills to turn your kick into a powerful, forward-driving force.
Breaststroke and butterfly are short axis strokes, meaning power comes from an up and down body motion. We teach you to focus on driving your body forward, not just up and down, to generate real tempo and power.
A powerful breaststroke kick is essential for speed. This video demonstrates four drills, like the heel tag on your back, designed to improve your kick's speed, power, and technique for maximum propulsion.
A perfect breaststroke open turn can shave seconds off your time. We teach it in three simple steps: a two-hand touch, a quick leg whip to turn your body, and a powerful push-off into a long underwater pullout.
Watch the explosive power of a world class 50m breaststroke final. This is what we train for: a high tempo, powerful kick, and a fast recovery to maintain momentum from start to finish.
In the 100m breaststroke, endurance and technique are key. This championship race showcases the importance of maintaining a strong kick and efficient pullout, even under fatigue, to finish strong.
About Power Up Your Breaststroke
When you're swimming breaststroke, most of your energy shouldn't be spent fighting the water—it should be used to propel you forward. We focus heavily on short axis movement, ensuring your kick translates into actual speed rather than just vertical motion. During our sessions at Manav Rachna, we watch you from the deck and give immediate feedback on your pullout and timing, so you stop wasting effort and start swimming faster.
Master the Short Axis
Breaststroke is a short axis stroke, which means your power generation looks different from freestyle or backstroke. While other strokes rely on rotation, breaststroke relies on driving your body forward. Our coaching breaks this down into manageable parts: the pull, the breath, and the kick.
Technical Drill Focus
We don't just swim laps; we train with intent. You will work on:
- Kick Propulsion: Using drills like the 'Heel Tag' to ensure your feet are in the right position to maximize water displacement.
- Open Turns: Shaving seconds off your time with a three-step process: the two-hand touch, the quick leg whip, and the powerful push-off into a streamlined pullout.
- Timing: Synchronizing your pull and breath to maintain momentum, especially when you start to fatigue.
