Designs Inspired by Your Story: Custom Embroidered Blouses
A blouse should be more than just clothing; it should be a chapter of your life. We collaborate with you to weave personal memories, names, and meaningful motifs into every piece of embroidery.
The design process is a conversation, and this blouse for the mother of the groom is a perfect example. We took the peacock motifs from her original saree and brought them to life with embroidery, adding pops of color with tassels. This is how I ensure your blouse and saree tell a single, cohesive story.
Personalization turns a beautiful garment into a cherished memory. For this bride's Muhurtham blouse, we embroidered her and her groom's names into the back design. It’s a small, hidden detail that adds a deeply personal layer to her bridal look, making it uniquely hers.
My collections often start with a single idea or 'Katha'. This video explains the inspiration behind my 'Kamalam' collection, which is the lotus. By creating a whole theme, I can design pieces that are not just beautiful on their own but are part of a larger, elegant narrative.
About Designs Inspired by Your Story
The most common question I get is how we translate a memory into a design. It starts with a conversation, whether it is the peacock motifs from your mother's wedding saree or the names of the couple for a Muhurtham. We sketch these out first to ensure the layout balances your personal story with the fabric's flow before a single needle touches the silk.
Every garment I create starts with a 'Katha' or story. When you come to my studio in HSR Layout, we do not just look at fabric samples. We talk about the event, the emotions you want to capture, and the visual elements that represent your journey.
How We Build Your Design
- Conceptualization: We begin by identifying the core theme. Are we reviving an heirloom motif, like a traditional peacock or lotus? Or are we weaving in a modern personal element, such as your wedding date or initials in Zardosi?
- Collaborative Sketching: Once we define the story, I sketch the layout. We decide on the density of the work—whether it requires the heavy regal look of Zardosi and Kundan or a lighter, elegant finish with glass beads and cut-work.
- Material Selection: I select threads and beads that complement your saree's weave. If your saree is a delicate tissue organza, we might use lighter sequins and thread shading. If it is a heavy silk, we lean into deeper Zardosi and stone work.
Why Personalization Matters
Your blouse is a keepsake. By incorporating motifs like Temple Architecture, Pichwai art, or specific wedding scenes, we move away from generic designs. We ensure the embroidery is technically sound—using quality backing and finishing so the heavy work remains comfortable to wear for hours during ceremonies. This is how we turn a simple blouse into a piece of wearable art that you will want to preserve for years to come.
