Learn Garba Steps: From Basics to Advanced
Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to polish your Dakla moves, my studio is where you find your rhythm. Let's make Garba fun, energetic, and completely stress-free.
Here's a peek into our advanced Dakla 2.0 batch at the studio. You can see the energy and fun we have while learning traditional Garba steps together. Everyone is focused but also having a great time.
Practicing a fast-paced 6, 8, 10, and 12 step routine for Navratri. This shows how we combine different steps into a full choreography that you can perform with confidence at any event.
This is me, just letting loose and enjoying some high-energy Garba steps outdoors. This is the kind of authentic, powerful movement I teach in my classes, helping you find your own rhythm and confidence.
A little solo Garba session, playing with some trending steps. In my classes, I encourage you to explore your own style while mastering the traditional forms.
About Learn the Steps: From Basics to Advanced
Instead of generic footwork drills, we focus on proper floor mechanics. In my studio, we use impact-absorbing wooden laminate flooring, which lets you practice those high-energy Dakla spins and complex rhythms without worrying about shin splints or joint pain. It is about learning the technique right so you can keep dancing longer.
Building Your Garba Confidence
I believe anyone can dance if they have the right guidance. Whether you think you have two left feet or you are just looking to sharpen your existing skills, my classes are designed to get you moving with confidence.
What We Cover
My training modules are broken down by level so you never feel overwhelmed:
- The Foundation: We start with the basics, teaching you essential formations like 2-taali, 3-taali, and the 6-step. I emphasize posture and hand gestures (mudras) early on, as these define your grace on the dance floor.
- Intermediate to Advanced: Once you have the rhythm, we move to complex styles. This includes Dakla, Ramtiave, and high-energy fusion sets. We also work on spin control (chakkar) and partner coordination, which is key for those crowded festival nights.
- Navratri Readiness: If you are prepping for the festival, my 10-day intensive bootcamps are the way to go. We cover 10 sessions of non-stop drills, helping you build the stamina needed for long hours of Garba.
The Studio Experience
Learning in a supportive environment changes everything. My Rajajinagar studio is equipped with a professional audio system because feeling the bass is half the battle when you are mastering complex beats. We also limit batch sizes to about 10 to 12 students, which means I can give you direct corrections on your timing and form. If you want to sweat, learn some serious steps, and have a bit of 'masti' along the way, this is the place to be.
