Shooting is not just about holding a rifle steady; it requires immense physical stability and mental calm. We integrate fitness and meditation into our training in Hulimavu to help you hit the mark.

Physical fitness is a cornerstone of our training. This video shows our state and national level shooters participating in a group fitness session to build endurance and strength.

Cool-down stretches are an important part of every training session. This helps with muscle recovery, prevents injuries, and promotes flexibility.

About Beyond the Target: Mind & Body Conditioning

A steady hand starts with a stable core and a quiet mind. We do not just teach you how to aim; we run daily yoga and endurance sessions to build the physical foundation every competitive shooter needs. When your body is balanced and your breathing is controlled, your precision on the range increases naturally.

Why conditioning matters

Competitive shooting is physically demanding. Staying in a static position for long periods requires core strength, and the mental pressure of a tournament requires intense focus. Many shooters overlook these aspects, but our academy in Hulimavu treats them as essential.

Our training approach

We believe a shooter is an athlete first. Our conditioning program includes:

  • Core Stability & Balance: We use specific body-weight exercises to strengthen the muscles required for a rock-solid shooting stance. This prevents fatigue and keeps your aim steady.
  • Yoga & Breathing: Controlled breathing is the key to lowering your heart rate before you pull the trigger. We teach pranayama and mindfulness to help you stay calm, even when the match pressure rises.
  • Endurance Training: Regular fitness drills and running near Hulimavu help build the stamina needed for long competition days, ensuring your focus does not slip during the final rounds.

Whether you are a beginner looking to understand the sport or an athlete aiming for state-level competitions, these sessions are designed to complement your range time. We push you to work hard on the mats and the track so you can perform your best when you pick up the rifle.
