My approach to playback singing is rooted in my training in Indian classical music. I believe that a song, whether it is for a web series or a feature film, must do more than just fill a background silence; it must tell a story. My process begins with understanding the context of the scene. I often ask for the script or the character's motivation to ensure the 'harkats' and 'taans' I employ enhance the emotional narrative.
Having worked on large-scale projects like Heeramandi, I am comfortable with the demands of high-pressure studio environments. I am equally at home recording a raw, stripped-back Thumri that requires absolute purity of voice as I am adapting to a complex Bollywood arrangement.
