About Live Musical Performances
Music is what keeps me going. For me, singing live is about sharing a piece of my soul, whether it's a Thumri live performance or a heartfelt Ghazal. Every show, big or small, is a chance to connect and feel alive.
Where I Perform
- Big concerts and festivals have an energy of their own. With my full classical music ensemble - tabla, sitar, guitar, harmonium - the vibe is grand, like you might've seen at Jodhpur RIFF or Science City.
- Smaller, intimate baithaki music evenings are something else. These gatherings are all about close-knit connections, honest moments, and music that feels like a shared secret.
- For corporate or cultural events, I adapt to the mood. Sometimes it's a sparkling highlight, sometimes it’s more about interactive sessions where I mix stories with song.
My Approach
- My style is rooted in classical and semi-classical but always open to the moment. I weave in Sufi music concerts, timeless Amir Khusru pieces, and even spontaneous performances.
- Singing is not just technique for me. It's about 'bhaav' - emotion, storytelling through song, and bringing out that nari shakti (woman power) that I truly believe in. Amra Nari, Amra Shob Pari (We women, we can do anything).

My Story
Hi, I’m Barnali. Music’s more than work for me – it’s my breath, my peace, my everything. Singing, especially for Heeramandi, feels like touching something divine. Got the Devi award, felt proud, you know. I really believe in Nari Shakti. Like I say, 'Amra Nari, Amra Shob Pari' (we women can do anything). My daughter, my sarees, my roots – all part of my story. Grateful for every musical evening. Dugga Dugga.
My Work
Classical & Semi-Classical Singing - I sing live at stage shows, baithakis, music festivals, and do studio work for films and jingles.
Unique Singing Style - My style mixes classical and semi-classical, with influences from different gharanas. Love singing Thumri and Ghazal.
Heeramandi & Film Vocals - You might know my voice from Heeramandi or films like Har Har Byomkesh. I do semi-classical film vocals.
Live Shows & Baithakis - I perform at big festivals and intimate baithaki evenings – each show is special to me.
Collaborations with Maestros - Sharing stage and studio with great artists, creating timeless music together – that’s what I live for.
