The Joy of Running & Movement
Running isn't just about the finish line or chasing a personal best. It's about the wind, the trail, and the people running alongside you. Whether you are finding your stride or just looking for a reason to move, my group runs and movement flows are where we celebrate every kilometer together.
This run was a huge learning experience for me, pushing through the sun and dehydration. It’s a reminder that every run teaches you something new about your limits and your strength. On my retreats, we embrace these challenges together as a team.
Running should be about joy, not just competition. This half marathon in Auroville was all about that, running barefoot on beautiful trails just for the love of it. This is the spirit I bring to our group runs, focusing on the experience and the fun of movement.
A weekend trip for the Steel City Run in Ballari is a perfect example of what our community is about. We travel together, run our hearts out on a great route, and celebrate our achievements as a team. It’s about the run, the road trip, and the wonderful people you meet.
About The Joy of Running & Movement
Most of my group runs are not about chasing speed or complex timing chips; they are about showing up. We usually meet in the early hours to catch the trails before the sun gets too high, and we always finish with a group stretch or a quick chat. Whether you are barefoot or laced up, the focus here is purely on the joy of the movement itself, not just the stats.
For me, running is a form of soul reset. After years of running—sometimes with a fractured foot or on days my legs felt like jelly—I have learned that the best runs happen when you stop treating it like a chore.
My approach to movement is simple: no perfection, just progress. Whether we are heading out for a trail run near the outskirts of Bengaluru or joining a larger event like the ones I have attended in Auroville or Ballari, the goal is always to create a 'jatre' (festival) of wellness. We aren't here to look a certain way or hit impossible paces. We are here to get our blood flowing, clear our heads, and support each other.
Why join our community runs?
- Barefoot & Natural: I am a barefoot runner and often coach others on how to transition safely or simply improve their form. It changes how you connect with the ground.
- Inclusive Pacing: Whether you are training for your first 5k or you are an experienced runner, there is a place for you. We focus on the group energy, not the competition.
- Real Talk: We don't hide the struggle. You will see us sweat, sometimes get dehydrated, and occasionally laugh about how slow we are going. It is real, it is raw, and it is a lot more fun than running alone.
If you have been looking for a reason to lace up your shoes again or want to start your fitness journey without the pressure of a gym, come run with us. It is less about the distance and more about the company.
