At BCI, we don't just climb; we build the infrastructure and safety standards that make our local crags accessible. From advanced rescue training to establishing new sport routes, here is how we keep our community climbing strong.

The official announcement for our Rorschak Rock-Rescue Skills Competition. This event, the first of its kind in India, is designed to test and grow rescue skills within the community in a safe, friendly, and competitive setting.

Upskilling is critical for a safe community. Here are some of our members at a PCGI course, practicing essential guide-level skills like 3-to-1 hauling systems. Congrats to all who attended and to our new Top Rope Guides.

We are proud to share this letter of appreciation from the Karnataka State Police. Our BCI Rescue Team was able to use its technical skills to assist in a body recovery operation, highlighting the real-world application of our training.

This is a note of thanks from a family we assisted during a search and rescue operation for a lost hiker. While the outcome was unfortunate, we are always ready to offer our skills, resources, and willingness to help in complex terrain.

A list of the tasks our BCI Rescue Team performed, including organizing thermal drones, satellite mapping, and night-time rappels down Savandurga. This is a reminder of the serious and skilled work our volunteer team is capable of.

Route development in action. Here, a climber is equipped with a power drill, preparing to place bolts on a new line. This is the hard work that goes into creating safe, accessible sport climbs for the community.

We recently upgraded the hardware at the Rasta Cafe Routes area, replacing older bolts with new stainless steel ones. Regular maintenance is a key part of our commitment to safety.

Announcing a new route, 'PG13' (5.10b/c), at Gethna Area. This sport line was established after an exploratory trad climb, and features some fun, unusual movements like underclings and a hand-jam.

We've added five new beginner-friendly routes (5.5 to 5.8) at the Gethna Area. This spot is perfect for people learning to lead climb or practicing multi-pitch systems for the first time.

About Safety & Skills: Rescue and Route Development

Developing a new route involves more than just drilling holes. We carefully scout lines, replace aging hardware with modern stainless steel bolts like Hilti expansion bolts, and ensure every new line offers rewarding, safe movement for the community. Whether we are teaching a 3-to-1 haul system or setting up rescue anchors, we focus on technical precision so you can focus on the send.
