Our Best Climbing Moments & Community Highlights
From technical rescue drills in the gym to moonlit climbs on natural rock, this is what the BCI experience is all about. Come join us on the wall.
Here's Manoj making the dynamic crux move on 'Superman', a classic 5.10 sport climbing route at the Upper Domes in Yedamadu. This route requires a burst of power to 'dyno' for the hold, and it's always a thrill to watch someone send it.
The energy at our Rorschak rock rescue skills competition is electric. Here you can see climbers racing against the clock on the ascending section, with the whole community cheering them on. You'll hear plenty of "Aale aale!" to get the psyche high.
This is what multi-pitch climbing in Bangalore is all about. A climber ascends the magnificent 'Naatu-Naatu', a 300-meter line at Bananthimarri Betta. This photo also captures our inspiration, 66-year-young Shyam, who still climbs with the same passion as he did in the 1980s.
It's not all serious sends. We love a good, quirky challenge, like this barefoot slab climbing dare at ROMP 2024. Amit nominated Sohan, our slab master, who then raised the stakes. It's this kind of fun that makes our community special.
Our community is made of incredible people from all walks of life, like Sudha, a mental health professional. This collage captures her journey from indoor bouldering to taking her first lead falls in Badami, showing the supportive spirit that defines our group, especially for women who climb.
We were incredibly proud to announce Bangalore's first bolted 5.13 route, 'Mudde Power'. Subhash established this powerful, overhung line at Yedumadu, a testament to the high level of climbing and dedication within our weekday crew.
It's always great to hear from climbers like Nirav. He joined us for ROMP 2024 and perfectly describes the generous, energetic, and welcoming spirit of the Bangalore climbing community that we work so hard to foster.
Climbing doesn't stop when the sun goes down. A full moon night session, with headlamps lighting up the rock face, is a magical experience. The cool air and quiet focus create a completely different kind of climbing adventure.
About Featured
Whether you are trying your first 5.7 route or project-sending a 5.13 line like 'Mudde Power', you will always find a belayer, a friend, and a loud 'Aale aale!' waiting for you. We focus on low-pressure, high-energy gatherings where technical skill-building matters just as much as the shared post-climb stories.
Why We’re More Than Just Climbing
We believe climbing in Bangalore is best done together. Our events, like the Ramanagara Romp, are not just competitions; they are endurance festivals designed to keep the community growing. Whether you are climbing 300-meter lines at Bananthimarri Betta or drilling rope-rescue techniques indoors at Tenzee Multisports, the goal is always the same: getting better while having a blast.
Safety, Skills, and Smiles
We do not take safety lightly. From certified rigging for our rescue challenges to basic top-rope belay instruction for beginners, we ensure you have the tools to climb confidently on real rock. Our instructors focus on movement patterns, knot security, and situational awareness so you can focus on the rock and not the fear.
Who Climbs With Us?
Everyone. We have 60-year-old pioneers climbing alongside 20-year-old newcomers. We have mental health professionals, techies, and students. We actively develop routes to push the limits of local climbing, but you will also find us just hanging out during a full-moon session, sharing laughs and stories after a long day on the crag.
Climbing Initiatives
We are just a bunch of folks who got hooked on the rocks around Bangalore. We are a community that turns every climb into a family reunion, whether it is a high-stakes competition or a casual Sunday crag day.
