Fostering isn't just about endless cuddles. It involves real, daily commitments like bottle-feeding tiny kittens, managing playful chaos where coffee mugs might meet their end, and socialising rescued cats to help them learn to trust humans. You will be part of a supportive WhatsApp network that guides you through every step, making it possible for busy professionals to save lives right from their own living rooms.
Fostering: The Cloud Shelter Model
We do not have a physical building. Instead, our 'shelter' is a city-wide network of homes across Bangalore. This means our cats learn to live in a real household environment rather than a sterile cage, which makes them much easier to adopt later on.
What Does A Foster Parent Actually Do?
It depends on the cat. Some of our fosters handle neonatal 'bottle babies' that need feeding every few hours. Others take in adult cats recovering from surgery or simply needing a safe space to decompress from the streets. You provide the space, the affection, and the patience. We provide the guidance.
Is It Flexible?
Absolutely. Most of our volunteers are engineers, doctors, and designers juggling full-time jobs. If you can only foster for a few weeks, that helps. If you can only handle adult cats that are already litter-trained, that helps too. You are never left to figure it out alone. You join our WhatsApp groups where the team shares advice on everything from vet runs to kitten diet transitions.
What We Provide
We ensure our fosters aren't left high and dry. Depending on the cat's needs, we help coordinate the kibble, litter, and medical supplies. Whether you are fostering a shy rescue needing socialisation or a energetic kitten needing a playmate, your contribution is the bridge between a life on the streets and a forever home.

We’re Bangalore Cat Squad, a city-wide family of volunteers, doctors, and designers who couldn't just walk past a street cat in need. We trade shelter cages for the warmth of our own homes, proving that even a busy schedule can make a massive difference in a rescue cat's life.
