Meet Our Expert Music Instructors
Our instructors are active performers who bring real-world stage experience into the classroom. Meet the team guiding your musical journey at our Andheri studio.
Meet Brendan, our founder and principal violinist. With a Grade 8 certification from Trinity College London and experience performing with orchestras like the Bombay Chamber Orchestra, he built our academy on the belief that music is a universal language for everyone.
Meet Rishikesh, another of our wonderful guitar instructors. He shares his journey and his core teaching philosophy: to treat music as a language that anyone can learn. He shows how he guides students, including young children, to speak this language.
Here is our instructor Rishikesh playing a composition from his own band, Dune Heart. Our teachers are not just academics; they are active, performing musicians who bring real-world experience and passion into the classroom.
Enjoy this beautiful Western classical guitar performance of ‘Sons de Carrilhões’ by our talented instructor, Anurag. This showcases the high level of skill and artistry our instructors possess and share with their students.
About Meet Our Expert Instructors
Our instructors are active performers, like Rishikesh from the band Dune Heart, who bring the real-world joy of playing music into every lesson. You aren't just learning theory from a textbook. You are learning how to play from musicians who understand what it feels like to stand on a stage. When you join a session, you are picking up insights from artists who have been through the same journey you are starting.
More Than Just Teachers
At BAM Academy of Music, we believe that the best way to learn music is from those who live it. Our team—including Brendan, Rushikesh, David, Gaurangi, Anurag, and Jason—are all active performers. They play with orchestras, record for films, and perform in bands. This means your teacher is someone who understands the nerves before a gig, the thrill of nailing a difficult passage, and the sheer fun of jamming with others.
Qualified and Approachable
While our philosophy is relaxed, our standards are high. Our instructors hold prestigious certifications from Trinity College London and ABRSM. We use these technical foundations to guide you, but we never let the 'academic' side of music take the joy out of it. Whether you are learning the Suzuki violin method or mastering your first few chords on an acoustic guitar, our goal is to help you build a relationship with your instrument.
The BAM Philosophy
We treat music as a language. Just as you learn to speak before you learn grammar, we encourage you to start playing and finding your sound early on. Our studio in D.N. Nagar, Andheri West, is built to be a safe, calm space where you can make mistakes without judgment. If you are ready to stop watching others play and start creating your own music, we are here to walk that path with you.
