About The Art of Detail: Custom Figurines & Toppers
Capturing a likeness in fondant is about the small, specific details that make a person who they are. Whether it's the exact shape of a guitar, a specific pattern on a shirt, or the way someone holds their coffee mug, I focus on these micro-elements. I do not just mold a face; I sculpt the personality behind it, ensuring your loved one sees themselves in the sugar art.
The process starts with your stories, not just a flavor profile. If you have a cherished photo or a sketch, send it over. I study the expressions, the posture, and the little habits that define the person—like how a dad sits with his dogs or how a friend works on their laptop.
Fondant allows for endless creativity, but it requires patience and structural planning. I use internal doweling and dense sponge bases to ensure these characters stand tall, whether it is a single birthday protagonist or a complex family portrait.
Because these designs are labor-intensive, I recommend booking at least 3 to 5 days in advance. Everything I make is 100% eggless, so we do not compromise on the taste or the integrity of the sponge while achieving these intricate shapes. When you see your loved one’s reaction to seeing themselves captured in sugar, you will understand why I obsess over the tiny details—from the glasses on a face to the objects in their hands.
