About Bespoke Details & Materiality
True precision in our work often comes down to how we handle transitions. In our recent projects, we use PVD-coated brass inlays within walnut-veneered panels to bridge the gap between fixed furniture and architectural walls. This specific detail ensures that your cabinetry feels like a cohesive part of the structure, achieving the seamless finish we are known for.
Our approach to bespoke interior details starts with the understanding that every surface should serve a purpose. Whether it is integrating a fluted glass partition to maintain porosity in a lounge area or crafting curved marble backdrops for a bedroom, our goal is to enhance the functionality of the space through intentional material selection.
Material Selection and Craftsmanship
We prioritize materials that age gracefully and offer tactile richness. Our material palette frequently leans on:
- Stones and Marbles: We source Italian marbles like Vanilla Onyx and White Michelangelo for their deep veining and ability to anchor a room.
- Metals: PVD-coated brass is our preferred choice for accents, providing a subtle shimmer without feeling flashy.
- Wood and Veneers: Walnut veneer, finished with high-gloss or matte PU polish, is used to bring warmth and depth to joinery.
Why Custom Joinery Matters
Generic furniture often disrupts the flow of a room. By designing custom wardrobes, TV units, and vanity counters, we ensure that every piece fits the room's proportions exactly. This is particularly effective in compact urban apartments where vertical space must be utilized without creating visual clutter. Our joinery solutions often feature soft-close hardware from brands like Hettich and Blum, ensuring that the utility is as high-end as the aesthetic.
Lighting and Architectural Detailing
We treat lighting as a material itself. By integrating LED strips into fluted panels or niches, we highlight the textures of the stone and wood. This ambient quality is essential in modern minimalist interiors, where the play of light and shadow defines the luxury of the space rather than ornate decoration.
BA Architects
We are BA Architects, a studio born and raised in Delhi. We spend our time obsessing over the small stuff—like the perfect edge on a marble slab or how light hits a fluted glass partition—because that is what makes a space actually feel like home.
