Color Correction & Damage Repair
Bad color job or a box dye disaster? I specialize in neutralizing unwanted tones and restoring your hair’s natural health. Let’s fix the damage and bring back your shine.
This client came in with brassy, uneven color from a previous job. I performed a color correction to neutralize the unwanted tones and applied a new, beautifully blended color for a complete refresh.
The goal here was to correct a previous color that had grown out, leaving a harsh line. I created a beige brown shadow root that blends her natural color seamlessly into the lighter ends for a much softer, more natural look.
This is a great example of a color correction done without bleach. We evened out her existing color and added soft, blended tones to create a cohesive and beautiful result while keeping the hair healthy.
About Color Correction & Damage Repair
If you have had a color job that went wrong or your hair feels rough from constant chemical use, we need to take a step back. I do not just pile more color on top; I assess your hair's current porosity and strength to create a correction plan that saves your strands while giving you the finish you wanted in the first place.
How I Approach Correction
Color correction is about undoing the damage, not just covering it up. When a client walks in with brassy, uneven tones or a harsh line from a previous grow-out, my first priority is stabilizing the hair.
- Assessment: We look at your hair's history—specifically if you've been using store-bought box dyes, which I strongly advise against. These contain heavy metals that make professional color correction difficult.
- Neutralization: Using specialized L'Oreal professional toners, I neutralize the unwanted 'orange' or 'yellow' brassy tones.
- Gentle Lift: If we need to go lighter, I use a 'no bleach' approach whenever possible to keep the integrity of your hair intact.
Why Damage Repair Comes First
You cannot color healthy hair if the structure is broken. Often, I recommend a session of deep conditioning or a detox treatment before we even touch the color. This ensures that when we do the final gloss or balayage, the result is smooth, shiny, and long-lasting. Whether you are dealing with a botched global color or a patchy balayage, let’s talk about how to get you back to a color you actually love.
