The Human Library: Real Stories, Real Connections
In our Human Library, stories are not read—they are heard. Join us in a safe space where people become 'books' and share journeys of resilience, hope, and real life.
An invitation to hear from our "Human Book," Dr. Kashish Aziz. Her story, titled "The Best Is Yet To Come," is a powerful narrative of battling societal stigmas and emerging victorious as an entrepreneur.
We were honored to have Dr. Upma Narang as a "Human Book." Her story, "This Too Shall Pass," is a moving account of resilience and unwavering bravery in the face of unimaginable loss.
Announcing our Human Library session, where we invite you to connect, bond, and listen to real stories from real people. This is a space where difficult questions are appreciated and answered with honesty.
About The Human Library: Real Stories, Real Connections
Unlike a traditional book club, this isn't about analysing pages but listening to lives. When you join a session at a cafe like Barista Model Town, you are not just an attendee; you are part of a circle where difficult questions are welcomed, respected, and answered with complete honesty.
What is a Human Library?
At its core, the Human Library is a global movement we have adapted to our community. It is a space where volunteers with personal, often powerful, life experiences act as 'books.' They sit with us to share their stories—whether it is a battle with societal stigma, a story of unexpected resilience, or a journey of personal growth—and then open the floor for a candid Q&A.
Why We Do This
We believe that everyone has a story worth hearing. Too often, we only see a curated version of people online or at parties. Here, we peel back those layers. By listening to a 'human book,' we challenge our own stereotypes, find common ground in our struggles, and build genuine empathy. It’s an exercise in listening that goes deeper than any standard social meetup.
What to Expect
- Safe Environment: These sessions are hosted at intimate locations like Barista Model Town, ensuring a quiet, relaxed atmosphere where you can feel comfortable.
- Interactive Dialogue: This is not a lecture. It is a conversation. You are encouraged to ask thoughtful, even difficult questions. Our volunteers are there because they want to share their truth.
- The Sisterhood Factor: While the topics can be serious, the atmosphere remains supportive. We balance the deep emotional work with the comfort of our community—expect laughter, tea, and a shared sense of 'apni' (our own) belonging.
Join the Conversation
Whether you have a story to tell or are looking to listen and learn, you belong here. Our sessions are open to any woman looking to find her tribe and engage in conversations that actually matter. We keep our groups small to maintain the intimacy of the circle, so come prepared to connect, bond, and walk away with a new perspective.
