Why Our Tribe Loves the Avid Readers Club
We believe in real connections, not just reading pages. Hear from the authors we've hosted and the members who make up our vibrant community about the warmth and magic we share.
We are so humbled to receive this shout-out from author Avanti Kaul. She describes our members as phenomenal, warm, and well-prepared achievers, and we couldn't be prouder.
"In this world, nothing stays hidden..." One of our members gets into character while reviewing Madhulika Liddle's racy and suspenseful mystery novel, "Crimson City." We love seeing our readers this engaged!
"For me, it was a fan moment." We were so touched to receive this appreciation video from the incredible Ms. Sutapa Basu. Hearing that she is a fan of our club is the highest praise we could ask for.
Author Sutapa Basu explains how history is the key to solving crimes, referencing her book "Murder in the Jungle." It was fascinating to hear her perspective during our panel discussion.
A heartfelt thank you message from author Madhulika Liddle after our lovely discussion on detective fiction. We thoroughly enjoyed diving into her 17th-century detective series.
A look behind the scenes as I prepare to dispatch books by author Mona Verma to our voracious readers. We couldn't wait to welcome her and dive into her beautifully crafted stories.
A member shares a powerful review of "A House Without Windows" by Nadia Hashimi. Her narration of a few poignant lines from the book truly captures its heart-touching narrative.
A clip from our coverage by DNN24, where author Pratap Somvanshi praises our club's initiative to connect new readers with books in today's digital age. I also shared how his book "Loi" touched all our hearts.
One of our members recites a few moving lines from Pratap Somvanshi's book "Loi." The excitement to meet the author was palpable among all our readers.
"Where truth resides, the surroundings will glitter." A member narrates a profound dialogue from the book "Loi," which beautifully sheds light on the life and philosophy of the poet-saint Kabir.
About Praise for the Club: Testimonials
It isn't every day you find a place where authors call you the fan. Whether it’s a surprise shout-out from a writer like Sutapa Basu after a panel discussion or a member sharing a piece of their heart during our Human Library session, the love in this room is real. We don't just host meetups, we build an apni (our own) community where every voice is heard and every story matters.
When I started the Avid Readers Club, I didn't want a silent library group. I wanted a sisterhood. The testimonials you see here are from the authors we have had the privilege of hosting, like Madhulika Liddle and Pratap Somvanshi, and from the members who walk into our sessions as strangers and leave as family.
Why Our Community is Different
- Real Conversations: We dive deep into books, but we also talk about life, work, and everything in between over hot cups of chai.
- Author Access: When we invite an author, it is not a lecture. It is a genuine dialogue. As authors like Avanti Kaul have noted, our members come well-prepared, creating an energy that is truly special.
- The Human Library: This is our most cherished initiative. It is where we strip away the titles and labels, allowing people to become 'books' and share their raw, real-life stories of resilience.
We are based in Delhi NCR, hosting gatherings at cozy spots that allow for open, honest talk. If you are looking for a group where you can be yourself, voice your opinions, and find people who are just as passionate about stories as you are, you have found your tribe.
Avid Readers Club
I started this club because I wanted a space where we could swap screen time for real talk and a hot cup of chai. I am Romita, and my goal is simple: to bring Indian authors and passionate readers together in a space that feels like home, not a lecture hall.
