Tired of reading in isolation? We turn pages into real-life conversations. Join our intimate sessions where you can meet your favorite Indian authors, get your books signed, and dive deep into the stories that actually matter to us.

An engaging Saturday afternoon with bestselling thriller author Kanchana Banerjee. Our members were captivated by the discussion around her gripping novel, "Until I Find You."

I had the honor of moderating a panel discussion on mystery writing with the brilliant authors Madhulika Liddle and Sutapa Basu at the Oxford Bookstore. It was a fantastic opportunity to delve into the minds of these masters of suspense.

The warmth and energy author Mona Verma brought to our club was truly special. Here are some moments from our session discussing her incredible books, where we brought her stories to life with a spirited performance.

We were transported to the Mughal era during our session with the amazing Harshali Singh. Our members engaged in an inspiring and interactive discussion about her historical fiction, followed by a fun parody performance.

A lyrical afternoon with author Dinesh Prasad discussing his book, "All Men Are Worshippers." The event featured a divine opening note, a stirring performance by a member, and an insightful Q&A with the author who joined us online from the UK.

In celebration of Pride Month, we hosted the insightful author and social activist Dr. Tanushree Ghosh. We delved into her powerful book "Queer Chronicles," fostering an open-hearted conversation about love, identity, and inclusion.

We had a wonderful time with the charming author Harini Srinivasan, discussing her book "Lovestruck and Confused." The afternoon was filled with playful banter, soulful poetry, and cherished memories of innocent crushes.

An evening soiree with author Anuja Chandramouli for a discussion on her book "Girl Talk." The session sparked heartfelt sharing and judgment-free conversations about love, loss, and desire.

A cozy winter afternoon welcoming author Puneet Sikka to discuss her book "Take No. 2020." The session was filled with nostalgia for Bollywood as members performed their favorite movie dialogues, creating moments of pure joy.

Our readers were unstoppable, braving the pollution to gather for an engaging session with author Avanti Sopory. We discussed her book, "The Kashmir That Was," offering profound insights into the region's past and present.

About Conversations with Creators

Our sessions aren't stuffy lectures or formal book readings. We host these in relaxed, cozy cafes like Oxford Bookstore or Starbucks, where you can grab a chai, ask authors the questions you’ve been dying to ask, and actually hang out with a tribe that loves the same books you do.

What to Expect at Our Author Meets

When we say 'Conversations with Creators,' we mean it. We don't just sit in silence and listen to a speech. Our gatherings are designed to be interactive, raw, and full of energy. Whether it's an evening soiree for a new release or a weekend afternoon discussion about a classic thriller, the focus is on connection.

Why Our Sessions Feel Different

  • Intimate Settings: We pick venues like L'Opéra or Oxford Bookstore because they feel like home. It’s not about a stage; it’s about sitting in a circle, sharing coffee, and feeling comfortable enough to speak your mind.
  • Real Talk: We invite authors to engage in judgment-free conversations. You’ll hear about the struggles behind writing, the inspiration for complex characters, and the personal stories they don't usually share in media interviews.
  • The Avid Readers Touch: Because we are a community, every meet-up includes a little something extra—sometimes it’s a member-led poetry recitation, a dramatic skit bringing a chapter to life, or just a spirited debate that keeps going long after the coffee is finished.

Join the Sisterhood

Whether you’ve read every book by the featured author or you’re just looking for a new perspective, you are welcome here. This is apni (our own) tribe, and we’d love to have you join the conversation. Come for the book, stay for the chai, and leave with a signed copy and new friends.

I’m Romita, the founder of Avid Readers Club. I started this because I wanted a space where we could swap endless scrolling for meaningful stories. We aren't a silent library group; we’re a sisterhood that happens to read, laugh, and sometimes perform a bit of drama over chai.
