Bridal and Groom Couture Portraits
We move away from standard wedding shots to create high-fashion, editorial portraits that highlight the intricate details of your couture attire.
This close-up bridal portrait is all about mood and detail. The warm, dramatic lighting highlights the rich color of her velvet lehenga and the intricate gold jewelry. The peacock feather adds an artistic, symbolic touch to this couture bridal shot.
A black and white conversion brings a timeless and classic feel to a bridal portrait. It removes the distraction of color and emphasizes the emotion in her expression, the texture of the fabrics, and the sparkle of the jewelry.
This full-length portrait showcases the bride's entire ensemble in a dramatic, low-light setting. The lighting is carefully placed to illuminate her and create a sense of grandeur, making her the absolute center of attention.
Using colored gels in my lighting setup allows me to create a modern, vibrant look. This portrait of the bride in a teal saree uses a red and orange background to add a pop of color and a contemporary, high-fashion feel.
This shot uses creative lighting and perspective to frame the bride on a staircase. The purple and pink lights create a stylish, almost futuristic mood, turning a simple location into a dynamic backdrop for a modern bridal portrait.
Shadow and light play a huge role in creating dramatic portraits. Here, the light falls across the bride in a way that feels cinematic and artistic, highlighting the flow of her green saree while shrouding the surroundings in mystery.
Another example of a classic black and white portrait, this image uses a single light source to sculpt the bride's features. The result is a powerful and elegant photograph that focuses purely on her form and expression.
This diptych shows two similar poses from slightly different angles. It's a great way to show variation within a single look and is often used in lookbooks or editorial spreads to provide a more complete view of the subject.
This composite image combines two different moments from the bridal shoot. It tells a small story, showing both a joyful, smiling expression and a more thoughtful pose, capturing the range of emotions on a wedding day.
This is a relaxed, candid-style portrait of the groom. The soft, natural lighting and comfortable pose on the sofa create a moment that feels authentic and unforced, capturing his personality before the main event.
About Bridal & Groom Couture Portraits
I use a combination of off-camera flash and color gels to sculpt light around your outfits, ensuring the textures of your velvet lehengas or structured sherwanis stand out. This setup allows me to create a moody, magazine-style look that turns your wedding attire into high-fashion art rather than just standard documentation.
My approach to bridal and groom couture portraits focuses on treating your wedding look as an editorial subject. Whether we are shooting in my Kharghar studio or on location, the goal is to produce images that feel like they belong in a fashion publication.
My Process
- Lighting and Atmosphere: I rely on dramatic light shaping, often using gels to introduce bold color contrast or deep shadows that add depth to your portraits. This is why my work has that distinct, moody feel compared to typical candid photography.
- The Editorial Experience: For our Premier Editorial Shoots, I incorporate a full pre-production phase. We discuss mood boards and color palettes before the shoot day so that when we step in front of the lens, every pose and expression is intentional.
- Post-Production: Every portrait receives high-end retouching, including frequency separation and color grading. This is essential for achieving that clean, polished finish you see in fashion magazines.
Studio vs. Location
If you prefer the controlled environment of my studio, we can play with strong studio lighting and solid backdrops to keep the focus entirely on you. If you prefer the outdoors, I look for rustic spots in Navi Mumbai to create a dreamy, natural light aesthetic. Both styles are designed to make you look your absolute best, whether you want something intense and dramatic or soft and organic.
