Clay Modeling Workshops: Hands-on Creative Sessions

Forget spreadsheets and meetings for a couple of hours. Grab some clay, get your hands messy, and let’s see what we can build together. It is the perfect way to reset, recharge, and have a little fun.

The team at Finbox fully engaged in a therapeutic clay modeling session. The simple act of working with clay is known to be a great stress reliever and a way to practice mindfulness in a group setting.

A group of adults enjoying a clay workshop, learning to shape and mold the material. These sessions are filled with laughter and conversation, making them an excellent icebreaker and team-building activity.

This workshop focused on creating beautiful Ganesha and Lakshmi hangings for home decor. Participants are seen here painting their clay creations, adding a personal touch to these festive pieces.

A dynamic look at the 'Magic with Clay' workshop I conducted for Emaar India. The video captures the lively atmosphere and collaborative spirit as employees learn new sculpting techniques together.

Clay is a wonderful medium for all ages. These clay fish and painted bottles were created during one of my classes, showing the versatility of the material for different kinds of creative projects.

About this collection

Unlike studio setups, my corporate clay sessions focus on hand-building techniques like pinching and coiling, meaning you do not need a potter's wheel or prior experience to walk away with something you made yourself. I bring everything—clay, tools, and protective mats—right to your office so you can jump in without worrying about the cleanup or the messy logistics.

Why clay modeling works for teams

There is something incredibly grounding about working with natural clay. It forces you to slow down, focus on the texture, and be present in the moment. In my experience, even the most skeptical team members—those who swear they have no artistic bone in their body—end up creating something they are proud of. It is a fantastic icebreaker that levels the playing field; nobody is an expert here, so we all start from a simple lump of earth.

What we cover in the workshop

Since we focus on hand-building rather than wheel-thrown pottery, the sessions are highly portable and safe for office environments. We use natural terracotta or air-dry clay, and I guide you through fundamental techniques:

  • Pinching: The most intuitive way to shape forms.
  • Coiling: Building height and structure using long snakes of clay.
  • Slab construction: Creating flat surfaces and textured pieces.

Logistics and setup

I handle the full setup at your location in Gurgaon or the wider NCR. My team and I provide all the protective gear (newspapers and mats) to ensure your meeting room stays clean. Each participant receives their own supply of clay and a set of modeling tools to take home their creation. These pieces are not kiln-fired, making them lightweight decorative items you can display on your desk or at home immediately. If you are looking for a break that actually helps your team feel lighter, this is it.

I'm Deepak, the face behind Artshaala. For me, art is a happy pill, and I love watching teams trade spreadsheets for clay to rediscover their creative side. I keep things friendly, judgment-free, and fun—no experience is ever needed to join.
