My Journey: From Dentistry to Artistic Expression

Trading the stethoscope for a paintbrush was the most difficult, rewarding decision of my life. This is the story of how my past life as a dentist informs the way I see color, structure, and human connection today.

I used to wear a white coat, now I hold a paintbrush. This photo captures me in my new identity, an artist. My journey from dentistry to art was a return to myself, and I bring that authenticity to every piece I create.

A close-up from a recent event. Sharing my story of leaving medicine for art reminds me that our paths don't have to be linear. Being an artist is not just my job, it's who I am.

At a business networking event, sharing my story. It was powerful to connect with other entrepreneurs and see them resonate with my choice to follow a passion. It's a reminder that courage is contagious.

Just me, proudly standing with a collection of my paintings. This display includes a variety of my work, from a textured abstract to spiritual pieces featuring Shiva and Maa Kali.

Another shot with my collection. Each painting represents a different phase of my artistic exploration, from the bold Kalamkari piece to the minimalist abstract canvas.

A closer view of me with my artwork. I love creating diverse pieces that speak to different people and fit into different spaces.

This is the beginning of my dream project: a massive 5-foot diameter canvas. I'm so excited to see where this piece takes me. Stay tuned for the journey!

I’m not chasing perfection, I’m chasing progress. This is my motto, both in my art and in my life. Every day is a chance to learn and grow.

A smile on my journey of progress. Embracing the grind and the process is what being an artist is all about.

On a balcony, taking a moment to reflect. My journey is about evolving, one step at a time, and I'm in it for the long run.

About About the Artist

Dentistry taught me precision, but art taught me how to let go. My background gives me a steady hand for the fine line work in my Mandalas, but my heart is truly in the textures and emotional flow of my abstract pieces. Every canvas I work on is a bridge between the clinical structure I used to know and the creative freedom I have fought for.

When people ask if I miss being a doctor, I tell them I never really stopped being one. I still study my subjects, only now I look for emotional anatomy instead of physical pathology. That clinical discipline is buried deep in my process. When I layer gesso on a canvas or apply a double coat of varnish, I am applying the same standard of care I once gave to patients.

My transition from the clinic to the studio was not about running away, but running toward something that felt honest. I treat every commission, whether it is a small family portrait or a large office mural, as a collaborative project. I do not aim for sterile perfection. I aim for resonance.

I work primarily with high-pigment acrylics because they allow me to build depth and energy quickly. If you look closely at my textured work, you will see the physical residue of my process, materials I experiment with to create those 3D surfaces that catch the light. I believe art should be something you can feel, not just something you hang on a wall to fill empty space. When you commission a piece, you are not just buying a painting; you are bringing a bit of that human, imperfect, and evolving journey into your own home.

I am a dentist turned artist who believes in the beauty of the imperfect. My work is not about flawless lines, but about capturing the raw emotion and soul of a moment on canvas.
